Just heard this remix of the original Pink Floyd song on MTV. I believe they said that Eric Prydz is from Sweden..pretty cool music!

Awesome! Love the concept of the video.

Those license plates in the beginning looked Swedish

Being half Swedish myself, I am proud to say that Sweden rocks!

I speak Swedish fluently.

One of my favorites: "Smaken är som baken. Delad."

So what is your story man?

Mine is this:
Mom=Swedish
Dad=Washington D.C./ Jewish

Both were on vacation in Italy when they met (what are the odds). I am a dual citizen. I lived in Sweden for a year when I was 2, and two years when I was 14 years old in Avesta (Dalarna). Other than that I have lived in the Washington D.C. area and now Seattle. However I have visited Sweden at length almost every summer since I was young. This year will be the first 4th of July I have seen in over a decade!!!

So what is your deal man?

Dad = 100% Swedish
Mom = Irish

My grandfather (dad's father) was a Lutheran Minister in Massachusetts, Maine, and Connecticut. That side of the family are all Swedish Lutherans, as my ancestors immigrated to New Sweden, Maine on ships. . . My great-great grandfather started Gustav Adolph church in New Sweden Maine, and my great grandfather was once the First Selectman of that town. . .

Anyway, my roots go back pretty far. . .

Do you feel your view differ from mainstream America because of your Swedish background?

Do you get back there much?

Not really and no. On one hand - I live in a very diverse part of the country now (Atlanta) and I don't have any Swedish friends or family who live here. Furthermore - some people (from my experience, anyway) tend to view Swedes as some exclusive white race or something (you know - blond haired, blue eyed people), but everyone in my family has brown hair and brown eyes. . .

On the other hand, I am proud of my Swedish heritage, and wouldn't trade it for the world. . .

Anyway, we all have our own heritages and are proud of them, so I don't view mine as being any better or worse than anybody else's.

As far as traveling to the country of Sweden - I have never been there (would very much like to, though; I will probably take a long extended trip over there some time after I leave college). I've been to New Sweden, Maine several times, however. . . Someday I hope to go back there and get back in touch with my roots (may even retire there, who knows).
