Enough with this "F RIAA Crap". You guys and everyone else who is anti-RIAA should stop being so hypocritical and figure out what artists belong to the RIAA by visiting RIAA Radar (site is not up now find a list though). Believe or not they might be a bunch of "bastards", in that they only give $2.50 of profit they make off of a $13.99 record back to the artists and profit from the others (wrote a Research Paper on it once). If they are that concerned about things they can just use "Watermarking" like a lot of other online digital stores are doing. The only way they can catch you in a peer-to-peer system is you are "leeching" or if they are matching the MD5 checksums on a digital audio file you downloaded. There is something called the DMCA (Digital Mellinium Copyright Act) it was passed by president Clinton and Congress in 1998 too (amongst other things it was introduced with a specific set of goals in mind) . A lot of artists don't belong to the RIAA so you should have anything to worry about. They can't do anything about Sweedish law though so I recommend if you are looking to give them a run for there money you search for some Torrents.

No Offense but Your post seems muddled and unclear to me. It also occurs to me that you don't seem to know very much about this subject, especially if you think the artists get $2.50 from an album sale. The top artists may get up to $0.15 per album sold, but that is about as good as it gets. You really need to read up on this subject. The RIAA fucks the Artists and Double Fucks the consumer. The fact remains that the only form of piracy that has a seriously major impact on the industry is the sort of mass piracy that takes place in China and Taiwan. The RIAA sends men in $3000 suits to threaten 80 year old grand mothers and 8 year old girls with law suits. Why don't they go after the big pirates? Because the big pirates are all controlled by Chinese Triads. The RIAA doesn't fuck with the real tough guys. They are bullies. They are evil, and they will be stopped.
Fight the good fight, and die with the enemy's heart in your hand.

I did when I wrote that Research paper on it . They can't go after people in China and Tawain! don't you get it? they can try, but under Sweedish law for instance it's not possible. (in the U.S we have the DMCA that's why it's possible). it's only in certain countries. First of all if you want to make an argument for the 15 cents get me some references and I will believe you. I am just citing that from memory. Yes! but not all artists are signed to RIAA record labels. People not to stop being so goddamn hypocrtical about that. They are evil bastards I didn't disagree with you on that they really pissed off the European DVD-A consortium when they decided to introduce Dual Layer's Disc. I wouldn't blame them either. I didn't say they were legit, I just they are well organized. CD's aren't an obsolete media either, especially for people who rip and encode music in their own collection. The prospect of Digital Audio on the internet has opened up a new market that's fair and competetive though to the consume and artist. Most people aren't game when it comes audio technology on the internet with the exception of those who are concerned, like the people on the forum I have been part of four years. The one thing I will tell them to go get "screwed" on is there shitty mastering practices.

Here you are making an assumption that all people use peer-to-peer networks. My response was to RidinHSpeed anyhow. I do know what I am talking about with exception to how much the artists/consumes get out of the payoff.
