| Yes it is. I reminds of flying to China in 1997 with my wife. I insisted we pay extra for business class seating since the flight was 15 hours long. She said: "oh no, the flight won't be crowded, we'll have a whole row of seats to ourselves." Now here's the funny part: every fucking seat in coach was taken and I spent over 15 fucking hours cramped into an economy seat. I have flown business class from then on... | |||||||||||||||||||||

| I don't even go to the movies any more. Too many bad movies, and too many bad parents who don't make their kids behave. I wait till they are released for rental. Bother not the cat. For they are sneaky and will piss on thy keyboard. | |||||||||||||||||||||

I only go to movies that are more attractive to me like the Pirates trilogy. I guess I should make it a point to just show up 10 -15 minutes after the screen time listed in the papers. But who knows? I may have missed the first 10 -15 minutes of the actual movie already started. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

We have some friends close by who have pretty much the same taste in movies that my hubby and I have. Whenever any of us rent a movie, we always check to see if the other couple wants to see it too. Who ever has it last is responsible for returning it. Bother not the cat. For they are sneaky and will piss on thy keyboard.

So I don't know if I will go this year unless Star Trek comes up with another Borg adventure. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

| Ah, but I think some films lose something not being seen on the big screen. Not all, but some. I remember when they re-released the Star Wars Trilogy a few years ago, and my boys got to see it on the BIG screen (my local 20 screen multiplex has one theatre that seats 800 and has one of the HUGE, old fashioned monster screens, complete with state of the art sound system, very cool). It was a completely different experience then watching it on TV. They did a 'Grease'' revival in this theater, it was SOLD OUT. And it was so cool, because a bunch of kids that had only ever seen it on TV were there, singing along , Rocky Horror-ish. Some movies I think should be seen on the big screen: Braveheart Dances with Wolves Gone With the Wind (I remember seeing this as a kid) ET Star Wars Any Indiana Jones flick Close Encounters. Oh, and for the OP? Around $7-$7.50 for an evening show, $5.50 for matinee. | |||||||||||||||||||||

That is, the EXTENDED version of Dances with Wolves. They never released the extended version for the big screen and it's only available on dvd. And although the cinema version is good, the extended version is a much better presentation of the movie itself.

I do think the extended version tells a better story, but for the pure panoramic experience? Naw.
