Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, applesauce, milk.

Sorry, got a big craft show this weekend, and have no time for cooking.

Ali has a knack for writing menus. She can make fairly ordinary dishes sound appetising.

"Premium quality corn-fed Angus beef gently grilled then drizzled with puree of Italian dried tomatoes and served with melted fromage Provencal"

aka cheeseburger

Know how that goes Knot. Till my mother is released from the hospital, it's going to be quick meals around here as well. That and foods we can smuggle to her to give her a break from the hospital meals. LOL!

We're hoping she'll be out though by Thanksgiving.

Wish your mother well for me, Ali. Hospital food is enough to keep a person in the hospital longer than they really need to be. When I was in after my anuerysm; there was a Filipino guy who refused to eat at all the hospital food. Since he was an older gentleman, there was a language barrier somewhat. I once explained to the charge nurse that this man is not likely to eat oatmeal or prune whip- he probably wouldn't even know what it was! Once they understood this and began feeding him food he was accustomed to; his attitude and health improved vastly.

Mom's good about eating hospital food. In fact, the hospital she's at, really have a great menu for their patients. But she's missing 'home-cooking' as she puts it, and this way it gives her something to snack on later, when the kitchen is closed.

Right now, we're not sure when she'll get out. Seems one of the meds they had her on for rhumetory athritis, is causing her bones to break down. She's got multiple tiny fractures in her legs, pelvic bone region, tailbone, and lower spine...They said surgery is out, as it would cause more problems then fixing the situation. So instead they've got her doing therepy to help her get her legs/hip so she can walk a bit better.

Worse part is though, they won't take her off the medication causing the problem. Cause if they do, the RA will worsen?
