I think that really good tomatoes is the ingredient what "makes" the salsa...which is something the stores don't always have.

And, I think homemade salsa-even with so-so tomatoes-is almost always bound to be better than the mass-produced salsa.

Yep, that it is. And it's a whole lot healthier then the store bought to boot. I think it's the fact there's no perservatives in home-made, that adds/allows the natural flavors to really stand out.
