It wasn't quite up to home-cooked but it was definitely palatable.

So Gary? Just what about what I posted in my menu was I supposedly in your opinion, show a 'knack for writing a menu to make something ordinary sound appetizing'?

Hmmm, cause I'm reading what I wrote and I'm not seeing what you're trying to claim I did...In fact, I made it a point to say that the meal was simple and very basic...

Not unless you think that 'Mississippi Hots' is something fancy...Which they're not. About the only thing they are is a regional thing...Very spicy sausages made in Mississippi and only sold in the Southern states...Which means I bought them this past spring while down home for my aunt's funeral...

So please, be so kind as to let me know exactly what I'm supposedly fixing tonight that is so darn fancy sounding?

Calm down Ali I was complimenting you on your menu writing skills!

For example, never just write the name of the dish without an accompanying adjective:

not just peach tea but " Iced peach tea"

and try to include heartwarming, touchy feely descriptors like "home made"

so even fairly mundane foods like sourdough bread or cream sound so much more welcoming when they are

Home-made sourdough bread
and
home-made whipped cream

Just analysing your writing style Ali.

How did you like my cheeseburger description?

Your cheeseburger description is not fit for a cow, Gary.

I will have to look for "Mississippi Hots" when I go down to visit my niece and her husband around Spring Break, Ali. They bought a house in Horn Lake; which is right next to Southaven. Are you familiar with the area, Ali?

???

Ahhhh, guess you forgot that tea can be served hot or cold eh? Hence the reason the need to specify WHICH way the tea is served...

And there's a difference between 'home-made' and 'store bought' items...Hence again, the need to specify WHICH type is being cooked/used in a recipe.

And what 'cheese burger' are you talking about? I saw you attach a title of 'hamburger' onto what you think you described...But let me point out everything that says nothing about anything being a 'burger' of any sort....

Ok, you say 'premium quality corn-fed Angus beef' right? Ok, what type of cut though? If you're talking about a burger, then shouldn't it be 'ground up premium quality corn-fed Angus beef'? Afterall, could be a steak for all we know...

Angus is a type of cow, not a particular cut...Serlion, cutlet, prime rib, etc...And like I said...Way you wrote it, one would assume it was a steak or roast you're talking about....Angus doesn't describe either whether it's ground up, sliced into steaks, cutlets, roasts, medallions, etc...

'Drizzled with puree of Italian dried tomatoes'...Again, it doesn't even begin to hint of 'hamburger' period...And are you talking ketchup or an actual puree of sun-dried tomatoes??? Cause ketchup is totally different then a puree of anything...

'Melted fromage Provencal' ??? You do realize you're mixing up two different types of cheeses there? One's a butter/cream cheese, the other is a yellow cheese? Also, since cheese toppings are pretty normal as a steak/roast topping, again it doesn't say anything about your discription being a burger...

Then let's not forget...You completely don't mention a thing about what type of a bun or if it's even served on a bun, to hint of anything other then a steak or roast dinner...

Me thinks that before you try pretending to make up menus about dishes, you need to study up a bit about what you're trying to throw together as a 'menu' period...

Cause you're just throwing cooking slang/phrases willy-nilly with no idea about what you're trying to slam me about... So you get a resounding '0' and 'F' on your posting of 'cheeseburger' there kiddo.

Nope, I'm sure not familiar with it. It sounds vaguely familiar, but that's about all.

You'll usually find them at the little mom/pop stores between Jackson, MS and Mobile, Al. The IGAs down there also usually carry them. They're made in the real casings (hand stuffed), not the manufactured casings other sausages are done as.

We have a saying in our family...There's hot sausages then there's Mississippi Hots. And there's simply no comparing them. LOL!

He didn't even discribe a cheeseburger. All he did was describe what cow some meat came from, a puree, and two cheeses that aren't compatible but he's pretending to put on top of the cow.

One of those types of cheeses he put down, is basically used as a topping on fresh fruit in fact...Or a sourcream substitute.

Thanks Highway. We hope she does too, although the doctors are telling us it'll get worse instead.
