Seriously, I don't care much for cakes that got liquer in them. However, I can PM you a recipe that my grandmother created without the liquer in it. My grandpa wanted something without all the glitter and rum, and so my grandma invented her own.

I don't have it here at work now, so I would have to do it from home, since it is on my computer there (or in a recipe folder).
ROTFLMAOL!!! I knew it was a joke...I just wanted to turn your world a bit topsy turvey with an actual rum cake recipe...Besides...Saves me the time of sending it to everyone if I just post it now.

And if I made a non-alcoholic version of my rum cake...Family and friends would feel giped...They'd view it as that non-beer beer...ROTFLMAOL!!!

That would be fine H80. Yes, I did know your recipe was a joke. That actually could have been the recipe for the last rum cake I ate- it flattened me so.

Considering my hubby is 167-almost 6'4" and eats for 3-4 people? Without gaining an ounce? Trust me when I say your brother wouldn't faze me a bit...

Needless to say...As much as hubby's eating stumps me, he's stumped as well on how little I eat...Which is usually only a bite or two of anything I fix for supper...

I can't understand how he can eat so much, he can't understand how I can eat so little...LOL!

I only share it with people I know well as well as my family. I'll try to remember to send the non-alcoholic version. Suffice it to say, if I tried the rum version, it might knock me flat on my derrière.

It depends on one's metabolism, I guess. Some people who weigh as much as you do can eat a lot, but gain nothing in weight. I don't eat much, but I don't lose weight either.

I am 6'3", and weigh 225 lbs. That's a rail of a husband you have, Ali.

Especially when you compare him to me. I'm 6'5" and 325 pounds. I have a brother that's 6'7" tall and weighs only 200 pounds but he eats twice as much as I do. And definitely doesn't show it.

Exactly what I mean about the metabolism, MIC.

Yep, he's thin...And considering the job he has, he's all lean muscle to boot. So his weight is actually muscle weight, not 'fat' weight'. Doctor celebrates when either of us gain a pound, cause it's hard fought for weight. ROTFLMAOL!!!

Hubby isn't much on cooking, but loves to eat...I love cooking, but I'm not big on eating...Guess in a way, it balances out for the both of us. LOL!

Tonight, I'm not cooking...Mother said I need a break from the kitchen, so she's taking care of supper tonight...Hmmmm?

So since I'm not doing supper, I'm working on the rum cakes for the holidays...That will give them a couple of weeks for the rum to age in them properly.
I dare say that if us three: me, Nutty Joe, and MIC were to consume those rum cakes at Ali's house, and if we consume a little too much, she may have to carry us all to bed if everybody else consumes the same amount. LOL
