No way. You didn't work for Auto Driveaway, did you? That was the most fun job I ever had. I got to drive new van conversions, sports cars, trucks, and all sorts of vehicles.

Segep, what I meant by my post was simply that sexual preference has nothing-nothing at all to do with the ability to drive. As far as how to rate the better drivers, unless someone can think of a better way to tell me; how would you know tell preference? You couldn't. Perhaps someone should let us know if they were being asked such information on their last traffic stop or auto accident.
Gary, your article is nothing more than one man's opinion- nothing more than that. It is not "proof" in any sense of the word. IMO, there really is no such thing as a "good" driver outside of being able to navigate from Point A to Point B. GPS navigational devices available commercially have now even made that a non-point.
The only categories for automobile (or other) drivers left is "safe". After all, you are only as safe as the most unsade driver on the road within 300 feet of yourself. No matter how good any of us think we are, one idiot can cause a traffic debacle in an instant. At that point, we need only worry about our safety; rather than the other driver's sexual orientation.

I disagree that there is no such thing as a good driver. There are good habits that make one a safer driver and bad habits that make one an unsafe driver.

I have always practiced defensive driving and more than once I have managed to get out of the path of some maniac who should not have been allowed onto public roadways.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

It's a shame you don't live in the Atlanta area, we could do lunch or somethin'. I did customer transfers for an Autonation type dealership.

Believe me, CF; around the Chicago area, defensive driving is not a "choice" but a "necessity" that you learn. There are nuts around these parts for whom the steering wheel is not a control and navigational device, but in effect the equivalent of a gunsight!
I have to ask, though; have you made the effort to ascertain the sexual preferences of the maniac(s) that you have avoided the accidents with. And why should they not be allowed on the road, in your opinion?

I know, NJ. I'm agreeing with you.

I was not disagreeing with you that sexual orientation is irrelevant. As a matter of fact I agree with you.

But there are good drivers and bad drivers.

I have a friend who has lost his license because of points in three different states. (He is heterosexual. hmmmmm?? Maybe I'm on to something.)

And they should not be on the road because they have no respect for either the rules of the road or for the safety of other people on the roadways.

Gary; perhaps your esteemed professor could explain CF's friend in relation to his theory. Also have him explain how it is that my sister, heterosexual, aged 54 has never had a moving violation or traffic accident. She hasn't even received a traffic ticket yet!
What it adds up to is that gender and sexual preference have diddly squat to do with good/bad and safe/unsafe driving. For every person like my sister- few and far between, I'll wager- there are probably 200 people like CF's friend.
