Sad to say and not to bring it in on this thread, but maybe he came from fundamental Christian family and is gay...and felt shamed by that and so he acted out in other ways too. Or maybe he is not gay, but he is lonely. Maybe his father is too busy, always too busy to be that voice his son needs about the growing concerns of manhood.
Maybe his mother is a socialite, rubbing elbows with the snoots in town and the dad is filling all his time either at work, on the golf course, or downloading porn on his laptop.
Maybe the kid has all the advantages of a strong economy in the home and all the disadvantages of a lack of guidance, example, and empathy for the awkwardness of growing up at all...
Maybe he wants his parents to notice him. And they have yet to do that.
So in that regard, Pen, for your noticing him, you are ahead of his own parents!

OhDear | I don't have a son, but I will say that my daughter is one of those few people who will always have my heart and charity. Perhaps if everybody else thought that way we wouldn't have fucked-up kids like the one pictured at the start of this thread. |
