Off to FOB Falcon
In about an hour I get to fly in a Blackhawk helicopter to Foward Operating Base Falcon. I will be there for a few days. I always have to wonder how in the hell I would find myself at 50 years old, over the skies of Baghdad, in full body armor, with a bunch of soldiers.

It seems our camp at Falcon has internet now. Good ole' Falcon. It hasn't changed much since the last time I was here - gunfire in the distance like always.

The helicopter ride last night sure was thrilling. They didn't even close the compartment doors. There I was, 500 feet over Baghdad with only a 4-point harness keeping me from falling out. I getting too old for this shit!

i deal with dangerous people often, but they are in handcuffs flanked by security.

i have never been in a situation where they were just over the hill with a mortar. sounds terrifying. i bet it sucks.
