Clinton was on the right track when he called for abortions to be "safe, legal, and rare."

I marched down the streets of Seattle against the war before it began. And I stay in contact with my congressman on a regular basis.

I have participated in several gay rights marches on the capital, but it has been a couple years since I've gone. I usually forget to check the date until it is too late.

I travel all over the global attending HUman Rights Marches.
I have been to Washington D.C protesting Privatizing our
Social Security & Medicare systems. Plus I am always a
protester against the War.

To me protesting is like voting if you don't vote then you
have no rights to complain, and that's the same way when
it comes to protesting. One thing about most Americans
they will sit on their butts (not voting or protesting), and
when something happens that THEY don't like they become
the loudess mouth in the city.

We don't wait for the tv media to come to us. What we
do is videotape the event, and then give them a copy
to broadcast. Like tomorrow we will be protesting the War
in Iraq in Lansing Michigan (Our state Capital).

I'm wondering what political rallies/protests all you've been on.

As for me, I usually attend protests against the war, though I've been fairly inactive for a while. The last one I've been to was a huge one that was held in D.C. that attracted a few hundred thousand people. And before that one I was camping outside Bush's ranch along with Cindy and the rest of the mothers and supporters. Both of which as a part of the group "Military Families Speak Out".

Hey, Kat, I appreciate you standing with Cindy. I am a veteran of peacekeeping operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, seen first hand how terrible war is and how it devestates families. Now, I am not a combat veteran, nor have I seen combat, but I have seen the aftermath of a genocide in Bosnia, the massive destruction, the dead bodies, the wiped out communities and the shatterred famlies. I appreciate what you are doing. How can I get involved? I live in the middle of bum Egypt and I am also afraid that if I get involved, I will pay a heavy price, like my job and my family depends on me. I tell you Kat, I feel really bad for Cindy. War really doesn't solve anything and is incredibly stupid. I protested the Iraq War BEFORE we invaded Iraq. I was the veteran speaker. I am unfortunately, now, vindicated. We were in the minority at the time. It was important that I spoke at the rally and it was certainly empowering for me. After all, that's what politics is about, is empowerment. I had learned my lessons from witnessing the true role of the US government in Bosnia and how it accomodated and rewarded the worst war criminals in Europe since Nazi Germany for the genocide they committed against Bosnia's muslim population. I knew, that the war in Iraq, before we invaded, had nothing to do with 9/11 and was manufactered. It was all about money and oil. The war profiteering companies and the oil. The companies who bought and paid for Congress and put Bush into office to manufacter a war to make them money.

I am a member of this site called care2 and it has a petition page that has a lot of great petitions to help with any cause!

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/

I've been limited in what I can do in the field lately.

I was a guest speaker, as a ordained Minister of Humanism, at a rally in November to stop the escalation of troops. Here a link about it for those that didn't see it already.

I also am a member, athough now inactive due to my injury, of a marine mammal rescue team.
Heres a link about that:

Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong. ~Richard Armour

Aside from letting my representatives know what I think they should be doing, I have attended three rallies to bring awareness about the genocide in Darfur. One in Washington DC, one in Central Park and one near my home town that was much smaller. I still can't get over the extremely heinous condtions these people are forced to deal with every day. My heart goes out to them and my anger grows daily.
