Since the IRS has long been known to prosecute those whom falsify their income tax returns; I wonder if Ms. Dupree has listed (or will list) any or all her icome from these sessions with Spitzer on her taxes? | Not to mention all the money she is suddenly making thanks to her new found "fame"!
Perhaps she is so traumatised from buying shoes and handbags she will forget to file her exact income on her tax returns.

Some women realise that they have an asset, or a product that is in demand, and they market it. That is capitalism, and it should be legalised. That doesn't make someone lazy, just smart. | Well, you're going to have to explain to me how breaking the law makes one a smart person; WT. I'm afraid that this one went clear over my head. |

Level up: 38%, 2 Points needed | | Ask the corporate lawyers that question. That have lots of experience in how to profit from illegal activities. And I don't think that Ms. Dupree was a victim of abuse, just an unwillingness to let go of a lifestyle that her parents had accustomed her to. She is shall we say, utilizing her assets, before they are too old to utilize. That is her decision, just like anyone else who is breaking the law for whatever reason. And you two sound as if you would never break the law. Have you ever given a friend a gift for something they did for you? Prostitution should be legalised, it is a ridiculous law, and isn't even applied nationally. Just go to Vegas. You boys are being priggish in your judgement of the women who sell sex, but what about the men who are buying it? And don't, please don't, give me the old "they are victims" line. |

And don't, please don't, give me the old "they are victims" line. | Then I suppose you are going to start a movement to legalize prostitution? As a matter of fact; I was just in Vegas two months ago. Yes, there are prostitutes there; and some guys were trying to slip them in past the hotel security- and the police were also there;removing as many as possible.
I have never stated that I have never broken a law. But I will say that the laws that I've broken over the years all fell under the jurisdiction of my local Traffic Court (two speeding tickets); and another fell under the purview of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (forgot my fishing license at home once). I have never, ever knowingly commited a felony crime; and do not intend to start.
I'm sorry if that makes me sound priggish. But that was the way I was raised-to respect the law. Dad always says; "You don't have to like the law, you only need to follow it".
Nobody is finding fault with Ms. Dupree's desire to maintain a lifestyle that her parents provided for her. Just her choice of methods to do so, that's all. Now, unless Ms. Dupree's parents taught her to be a prostitute; and set her up in this endeavor (I hadn't heard this yet); why should they be at fault?
WT; you're giving credence to Gary's "Greed and Laziness" theory if you are somehow trying to pin this on her parents for providing Ms. Dupree with a good home. |

Do you find the truth painful or just inconvenient??
It seems you are a "misterogynist" - always ready to condemn men for abusing women but never prepared to admit that women abuse men.
In those cases it's always the man who is weak. Why not use the same argument for women who get abused?

Exactly. If this whore Dupree wants to maintain the good life why doesn't she get an education and go out to earn it like anyone else?
Why is WT so accepting of women callously abusing men for money?

Why is WT so accepting of women callously abusing men for money? | I think it's actually not women abusing men, Gary. Rather I see it to be more a matter of women using men for money; and some men who are dumb enough to pay for extramarital sex. Ms Dupree was in no way, In my male opinion; a victim of a poor upbringing. Her parents gave her a good life with all the advantages that we all strive to provide for our children. She just chose to keep that lifestyle by doing something highly immoral to support it. With all the time spent servicing her clients; I just think that she had other venues she could have explored. And yes, that does define her as lazy. |

Level up: 6%, 23 Points needed | | The nature of prostitution and men is a symbiotic one; one could not exist without the other. And what of it? Why shouldn't a woman exploit her sexuality if it can make her money? If it were legalized and monitored, the disease and exploitation by pimps would be eliminated, the police could focus on crimes of violence and property and everyone would benefit. And it strikes me that for every prostitute there must be many more men who desire their services or the economics of the situation would not work out.
Now regarding Spitzer, I'm glad to see him facing the music only because he has been so spiteful towards prostitution in the past, presenting himself as yet another holier than thou. Yet he thought himself above it all when it came to his own needs and desires. Judge not lest ye be judged as the Christians say. |

Judge not lest ye be judged as the Christians say. | You actually answered the question with your statement " if it were legalized". We may think whatever we do about prostitution; but as long as it is illegal; it is a crime. And to those who would perpetrate such; and indulge in such; the penalties should be forthcoming. When such laws are passed that legalize prostitution; maybe I could change my position, but not until. |
