| | Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, where he grew up herding goats with his own father, who was a domestic servant to the British.
Barack's mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in small-town Kansas. Her father worked on oil rigs during the Depression, and then signed up for World War II after Pearl Harbor, where he marched across Europe in Patton's army. Her mother went to work on a bomber assembly line, and after the war, they studied on the G.I. Bill, bought a house through the Federal Housing Program, and moved west to Hawaii.
It was there, at the University of Hawaii, where Barack's parents met. His mother was a student there, and his father had won... | | | | | | Member reviews | | Thesis | | 5 | | Content | | 5 | | Conclusion | | 5

Obama is not a Southern guy. He does not even look like he is an African-American, lighter than most. So his father came from Africa, and Obama himself was born in the Aloha state. WHatever you may think, the GOP won't win the 2008 election, even if Fred Daulton Thompson or John McCains are the nominee(s).
But maybe you needn't worry. John Edwards could possibly wind up with the nomination, even though Obama raised gazillions of dollars in his campaign. Money does not always speak. | | | | | Quote:

You just have to understand the political strategy and what Republicans are saying, their talking heads. Now to give you an example of what I am talking about. States run elections. In the 2004 presidential election, my Republican State put on the ballot a vote saying whether you still hate black people or not. The racist Republicans rolled to the Polls in record numbers. I just have learned to live with reality and facts, humans are really ugly creatures.

| | Obama and Hilary both have mentioned Christianity as their cause that they will follow, more than once. I compare them both to George Bush. We need a leader that won't run this nation on their religious beliefs. | | |

That is only so much ad hominem. If you can't demonstrate what of my viewpoint is immature or naive or worse, non compis mentis, than I suggest you not show your own desperation, trying to persuade others that you are right. I think you are jealous of me. I think you perhaps felt slighted by those who found my ideas worth affirming. But I am going to believe the best of you, Sir. You can trump that green-eyed monster with your reasonable self... So let's have a go at it one more time, Billy... What of my assessement of Obama is childish and without intelligence? Here it is again, just to refresh your memory: "Funny how that goes, Billy. I look at a lack of experience as a plus. He has not settled in. He has not become the status quo. He will have the energy and the vision that others seem to lose as they become experienced. He will show himself much more a possibility thinker." OD | | | | | Quote:

OD | In the 2004 Presidential Election, in my RED state, I got to vote if I still hated black people or not, the Racist Republicans turned out in droves. This was the Republican Party injecting Race into a Presidential Election. If Obama wins the Democrat Nomination racism in this country will explode. I am sorry for your hurt feelings; but I do facts unless I make it very clear it is an opinion or just an idea for discussion. You do not have to prove facts are right. Facts are facts, period. This is why you hear me rant against opinions being represented as facts. i.e. This is exactly what put us in Iraq. Evil Republicans representing their opinions as facts and the American People bought it hook line and sinker. Now hundreds of thousands of innocent people are dead for no reason and we killed them. Think about that on a very serious level.

And that because a man such as yourself, a man who relies to heavily on facts, resorted to mere opinion, and that, the worst kind, empty and pathetic name-calling. I am sure we could find many ideas and beliefs to agree on, and even share undisputable facts with one another. Though from those facts we may from time to time, reach different opinions as to what may be motives or what may be conclusions in any given event. I look forward to such an exchange with you Billy. Yes you do have to prove them. How is anyone ever going to know that your facts are facts if you offer no proof? | | | | | | Member reviews | | Thesis | | 5 | | Content | | 5 | | Conclusion | | 5

Nothing makes sense to you anyway. Sure, all states run elections. For as far as the presidential election is concerned, I guess we call that the electoral college. Even I sometimes don't agree with that process, favoring the popular vote. Kennedy won with the electoral vote. I don't believe that a republican state would put on the ballot a vote saying whether we hate the African-Americans or not. Just what county did that or did the WHOLE state put that silly thing on the ballot? You made that one up? | | | | Review Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode
