I'm not saying the Bible is wrong. I'm saying it is not the same book it was when it was written.

Translating ANYTHING takes it out of context, because language itself is not a precise concept. It is not perfectly transliteral. The text changed when the language changed.

Also, words in a language change meanings over time. To truly understand what the authors meant, one would also have to know what the words they chose meant at the time they were written.

As proof, I offer all the various versions of the Bible that exist just in English.
These differ a bit from each other in their word choices.
Not true. Any of the major translations agree with the orriginal texts in complete context. For instance in spanish the term "Tango Hombre" when translated means "have hunger" the understood meaning is "I am hungry" and the idea is correctly translated. Same with the Bible. The language is changed, idea is still true and exact. The various versions in english may differ in word choice, but agree in statement.

All the test does is proves the person who made it doesn't know the Author of the book.

Personally, I found the test stupid.

Not so I'll give you one glaring example that I know of to say the least. Almost every bible translates as "thou shalt not kill" this is completely innacurate in the bible God "kills" millions and orders his disciples to butcher thousands more at least, the commandment is "thou shalt not murder" at best as we don't have a word for the way they meant to take anothers life. They meant in an illegal sense, we just don't have a word like that, and if we do it is certainley not used in nearly every bible translation.

Actually "Tango Hombre" means you are ordering a man to dance the Tango.

You might be interested in this page. However, the Bible you think you want won't come cheap.

Personally, I'd like the Geneva Bible also found on the website above. A description of this Bible can be found here.
Right off-hand, I think it would probably be a better choice than the 1611 Bible or whatever one Luther read (if it wasn't the Geneva Bible).

Right now, I am reading a book titled "The Vatican's Exorcists", which talks about driving out the bad guy in this century. It is authored by journalist Tracy Wilkinson.

BTW, I posted a greeting card for Ali earlier. Hope you get to see it.
How about a report on the book you're reading, Hwy?
