Religion What is your take on religion? Do you base your thoughts in life according to your religion? Do you feel that religion should be kept out of Government and Politics?

This is the "tolerance" of the unbelieving? Gee! and I thought only Christians were intolerant.

See how you mock, ridicule? Could it be that you don't understand Christianity because you aren't a Christian? I think so.

It's prophesied in the OT that there would come a day in the last days when they would call good evil and evil good. I believe we've arrived. Congratulate yourselves. You've proven once again the Bible is true.

Seems to me that you missed 2 things.

1. The word "fundamentalist."

2. The point.
Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.
That's why I support the Pickens Plan. Check out the website at www.pickensplan.com. If you like what you see, please join me as a Pickens Plan supporter.

Just out of curiosity, what was said in that list that is not true?

There is much to learn from the teachings of Jesus. What a wonderful example to follow. Too bad the Church doesn't cling to his teachings. I have no faith in organized religion, but that doesn't mean I'm not able to take what is good and incorporate that into my life. And quoting the bible is a tricky thing, since none of us are reading it in it's original language, and after it has been picked apart and rearranged numerous times. Fundamental Christianity reaaly is much more like a cult than a religion. Authoritarians leading the sheep.

Well J it's a pity you consider it a reason to leave the forum. Not to sound sanctimonious or anything, but i'ld wager that Islam and/or muslims suffer more hostility on this forum than do other faiths.

WT, you just summarized my views on Jesus and organized religion perfectly.

While I don't consider myself a Christian, I agree that there are plenty of good things to be taken from Christianity and applied by/to someone trying to live a conscientious and moral (if non-Christian) life.

Too many people who call themselves Christians see this as an all or nothing, black or white, with us or against us thing. Non-Christians are NOT anti-Christian.

Christians, I am certainly not against you. If I were, I certainly would not have married one! But if you are honest with yourselves, though the language is coarse and somewhat insulting, there is nothing in the post that started this thread that is false.

In light of this "top-ten list," I encourage you to examine the why and how of your beliefs (which is very different from suggesting that you should question your beliefs). As Socrates said, "An unexamined life is not worth living."

See if you may want to make any tweaks to how you think, feel, and/or present yourself, both individually and collectively, to the world, to change/improve how others (non-Christians) perceive you.

In my opinion, it could only help your cause, which in turn would help everyone come to a better understanding/appreciation for who you are and what you believe. And isn't that one of the goals of religion in the first place?

Perhaps you should take your own advice?

That's because Islam deserves to suffer from more hostility than other faiths.

You should follow the teachings of the good Reverend Fred Phelps. He professes love and tolerance for everybody.

Speaking of love and tolerance for all, I wonder what the response would be if somebody published a list called

Top Ten Signs You're a Homosexual

or

Top Ten Signs You're Jewish

or

Top Ten Signs You're Black

No doubt there would be howls of political correct protest!
