Many theories are flawed when it comes to men attempting to judge the time warps of events of the past. The process of petrification was thought to take hundreds and thousands of years. That has been proven false by recently discover petrified modern items in the swamps of North America. (recently meaning the findings in the past twenty years) Under certain conditions fossilization, that is permineralization can happen in a very short period of time.

While operating the mining operation we discovered many fossils. One of the fossils appeared to be a portion of a small sharks jaw upper and lower sections that encased a fist sized rock of granite type material. These deposits are claimed to have floated with the iceage according to experts. I may have believed that until we started finding some cool arrowheads that had been covered by thirty five feet of material. The arrowheads came and the fossils came from an area under thirty five feet of a hill of material. A good rain exposed the items to be found. If an archeologist looked at the items seperately I could alomost guarantee you that the arrowheads would not be determined to be as old as the shark fossil even though they definately went through the same flood and landed within a few feet away from each other. Simple as it may be theories of any kind can be flawed.

Someday someone else may be excavating and find pieces or parts of our lives as a fossil. I wonder if they will try to market our bones as artifacts? Or maybe they can call the big dog (200lbs.) we have a tyrantus copious or something or rather.

I have some Ocean front property in the mid section of Iowa anyone interested?

Sounds like Niceman is making a lot of wild guesses and presuppositions and then saying they're undeniable facts, even though there's no reliable evidence. That's a big no-no in rational thought.

Rate of petrification isn't really much of an issue. It's not even used as much of an indicator towards age, so it's pretty much irrelevant. The best methods of age determination are the various forms of radiometric dating.

You forget that sharks have existed at the same time as humans as well as earlier, and it is not necessarily true that a paleontologist will immediately jump to that conclusion. In all likeliness, if the two species existed around the same time period, they could be predicted to have been deposited by the same flood. And, as always, we have radiometric dating to be sure. No scientist would go by rock layers alone, because they ARE subject to movement and erratic behavior on occasion. Still, they're not so arrogant as to not look at all possible evidence indicating the age of the said objects.

Rational thought is the work of the devil. God demands you believe and follow without question lest the Lake of Fire ye shall be cast in.

By the way, the astrological similarities to Christianity is yet another test of faith from God.

What a loving God he is, I mean imagine that inventing an extinct animal just to lure the people he loves away from him in to a firey demise. If that's love what the hell is hate like.

How? To my knowlege it's only flawed when what we're trying to date is heavily tampered with. You can't really tamper with hundreds of thousands of rocks effectivley
