I certainly wouldn't say people need therapy simply because I don't agree with how they live their life.

How do I know? I am extrapolating a hypothesis from life experience. I don't need to talk to them to have an opinion. Personally I'd rather not have anything to do with them...

All the time. Everyone does, it is a natural reaction, and an important defense at times.

I have to disagree with you that no family this size could be a happy family but there is something creepy to me about this particular family. I saw them on some talk show (Oprah maybe?) and I remember thinking then that they were kind of creepy.

My biggest criticism of them is that, in a time when Earth's resources are being stretched to the max, I believe it does not show concern for the planet to have that many biological children.

Why not adopt some kids that need homes?

Why not have two kids and use all that extra energy and resources to help clean up the planet?

I did admire the bit in the blog that Knot linked to that said they shop at thrift stores and auctions.

They seem to have missed the "reduce" part but it seems that they are at least doing the reuse right. (And hopefully the recycle considering how much garbage 19 people must produce.)

I agree. That is a major part of why this is so appalling to me... There are plenty of unwanted kids in the world. I'd bet these people are pro life, why don't they adopt? It's selfish and self-centered. This sort of unmitigated breeding is the result of ignorance and a lack of concern for others, in my opinion.

For some reason you have a problem with how these people live their lives and you make statements about them without even knowing them.

It's like saying 'All Muslims are terrorists' or 'All gays are pedophiles'. Obviously, that is just someone's opinion, but they are still stating it as fact. And most people on this board don't hesitate to point out the error of that thinking.

I think it's really sad that more people aren't on here pointing out your attitude.

At Catholic weddings (and others, no doubt), one of the promises the couple makes is to lovingly welcome ALL the children God sends them, and raise them in the faith.

I think most people on this board know me well enough to know that while I may judge others (as all people do), I do not state my judgments as fact. When I do present facts, I give support. I am sorry that you are having problems reading my posts in the appropriate tone, there is not much I can do about that, short of not expressing myself openly and honestly.
