The bible is PURE BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Basing morality around it is foolish in the highest regard.

Morality is not contingent on religion to exist. Therefore religion only detracts from the purity of morality.

That's not the entire episode. It's a good one, you should see the entire one if you haven't already.

Ahem... Traditional Christianity does not take the bible literally in every instance.

It's pretty obvious that even fundamentalists don't take the whole Bible literally, otherwise we'd be seeing a lot more people walking around with patches and prosthetics:

Mark 9:43-48 9:43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life crippled than to have two hands and go into hell, to the unquenchable fire. 9:45 If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. 9:47 If your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 9:48 where their worm never dies and the fire is never quenched.

I agree it's hard to take the story of Noah's Ark literally.

It all boils down to whether you want to dismiss the Bible because you can't understand it, or whether you are more open-minded and want to try and search for its meaning.

I agree. It takes a certain disposition and willingness to believe. Not everyone is open to listening (for all sorts of reasons - some valid, some not so valid).

I would hazard the guess that Penn and Teller are not inclined to listen.
