There is a fairly popular regional musician who just plays in bars around here and in Milwaukee. He wrote a song a few years back called "God" that was all about this exact sarcastic view of Christianity and the Republicans.

I am not a big poultry fan, don't really like meat at all, so homemade baked beans with white bread and butter sounds great to me.

The song was intended as a slam against the subset of Republicans who have adopted policies to appease religious right, and in doing so, redefined God as the character described in the song.

It's supposed to be taken as the sarcastic imaginings of how such a person would earnestly describe his God's values.

But I would love to hear about your perceptions of the song.

That's a GREAT line!

I have seen one that reads "My God can beat up your God." on more than a few bumpers here. I bet that guy made a pretty good buck on it. Go for it!
