C'mon, it's satire! And pretty funny, too. The fact it's on a few sites of people who are daft enough to think it's serious doesn't mean a great deal.

Yeah I know. And with the likes of ABC News, who can really think this isn't exaggerated satire??

The story is an exaggerated lie. Atheists are liars, btw. You can't trust them. They're naturally corrupt and evil. Even the good book says so, so it must be true!

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Psalm 14:1

How can you trust liars. Atheists aren't being persecuted in small towns. Small towns are made up of good Christians, incapable of doing harm to other human beings. We all know that.

I got news for you bud everyone regardless of who they are or what they believe can be and are persecuted in small towns. Regardless if they are Christians or not Christians.
I rented to a quadrapeligic. Definately a believer. He was hated and abuse by many in the tiny little shithole for a town that we lived in. His crime? A foolish young man with a car that he wrecked. His punishment? Forever treated like shit by local yocals.

The local yocals crime? Ignorance. Their punishment? Forever bound to live in a small crappy town that they created.

Chill out, Kat. You make some good points, but trying to use a satirical site as though it's serious to back them up isn't a good way to present a case.

Talk about hyper-sensitive !!

Learn to be tolerant of others and take pleasure in them enjoying themselves!

I think that religion and religious exercises should not be used to exclude other citizens from a publicly funded program.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Again, how is anyone being "excluded"?

If you don't want to sing carols you don't have to. Just as you don't have to go to the college football games.

Then I will not be at the football game, will I? Or I will grin and bear it in order to enjoy the half time band show.

See above

1. People are NOT free to promote their own religion or lack thereof using public property, publicly funded events, etc.

So people are free to promote their political beliefs, their homosexuality, their sporting preferences - everything but their religious beliefs???

2. FREEDOM of religion is at the foundation of America's basic cultural roots.
Your statement 1. contradicts your statement 2.

The use of Christmas carols in a public forum is meant to pressure people to conform.

But one does have to go to school, when there, a child should not have to choose between conforming to authority (in the form of teachers and administrators) expectations and conforming to parental expectations.

People cannot use the public forum to deprive others of their rights, whatever those rights may involve.

Why? Ones freedom of religion does not depend on being able to promote it in the public square. Ones freedom of religion does not depend upon being able to force it upon others.
The greatest danger to liberty lurks in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.

Nonsense! There is no more pressure to conform than when watching a football game!

You are far too sensitive - try to relax and be more tolerant.

But one does have to go to school, when there, a child should not have to choose between conforming to authority (in the form of teachers and administrators) expectations and conforming to parental expectations.

School is also about learning to love and get along with other people. There is no conflict in "expectations' from listening to carols!

What rights do you think are being deprived by listening or singing Christmas carols???!??

Again - you are not substantiating your assertions. How is anything being forced on anyone?

If your company takes Yom Kippur as a holiday do you feel you are being forced into Judaism?

It's amazing how eager you are to find fault on the sincere beliefs of others.
