And what exactly is a "right". Is marriage a "right" or do you just have the "right" not to be arrested for having sex with any human adult?

I would think that most marriages would be considered "harmful" if people could look through the bedroom windows. the definition of sex that is sanctioned by most churches and societies does not include blow jobs, anal sex and balloon play, which most or many married couples admit to.

I wasn't talking about gays directly. I was just talking about the concept of extending rights and why there needs to be boundaries sometimes.

As far as gays in the military, if there's even a hint of evidence that it might disrupt morale and weaken a unit's effectivness as a fighting force, then individual rights be damned... there's no place for it in that setting.

But if it can be clearly demonstrated that openly gay troops would NOT cause any disruption of morale and unit effectiveness.. then I have no problem whatsoever with openly gay people serving.

2 cats. I don't think it's "fascination". It's just another "legal in some states" sexual deviation.

None of which are discussed at the wedding ceremony. In homosexual marriage it is an absolute coitus will NOT be performed.

Of COURSE it's clear to you, Tristan. You're a gay man, therefore you have a direct, vested interest in gay marriage.

It's clear to me as a straight man with a keen liking for oral sex that pussy tastes really, really good. But that's beside the point, and I doubt you would agree.

I've yet to hear a solid argument for "why" gay marriage might be harmful. But I'm still open to the possiblity that such arguments might exist.

it's not discussed because it is understood that the HISTORICAL definition of married sex for 'normal' people does not include any of the above. so perhaps none of us should be married...

That's a profound statement. I like that.

It's the direct opposite of my "I want to know "why" people are gay before they should be allowed to "marry". I don't see allowing what is an obvious defect to share the term with heterosexuality. Your question is starting with homosexuality and working backward. While I start with what we know has a reason and purpose and go forward. It would be like asking "I have yet to hear a solid argument "why" men shouldn't have sex with sheep".
