Any person steadfastly adhering to their belief would fit that description. Entire countries are "brainwashed" in that case. And I don't think so.

Besides, no crimes were shown to have taken place. And no absolute uniformity indicating strict adherence to any alleged criminal aspects of the society was shown.

Maybe countries like China and North Korea, or Iran. But I don't think that is the case in the USA where every individual has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These kids aren't allowed access to any information outside of what is sanctioned by Jeffs and those under him. That is brainwashing. And it violates their rights afforded to them under the Constitution.

But in this case it seems you are forcing YOUR idea of life liberty and happiness on people that aren't interested. Part of that liberty is also the right to raise your offspring in a manner that you see fit as long as no physical abuse is occurring. So far...none found.

Not really. Many homeschooled and privately schooled kids get the same closed education. Current events, history and civics can be tailored to any POV you like. Our mainstream media is twisted according to certain agendas all the time. The tone of the coverage of this case proves that to be the case. It was BIG news until it looked like the allegations were bullshit. What part of the constitution are you talking about?

Why don't you take the time and look into what you are talking about? When the leader is convicted of the crimes we are discussing, and you know how strictly the group adheres to the leaders wishes, it followa that there is still abuse going on there. Have you seen Lisa Ling report about them? Have you seen her interviews with the boys that were tossed out by Jeffs, or the people who describe how things are done there? You cannot defend this kind of crap and be an American in support of our Constitutional rights.

None was proven in this case though. Unless they were tipped off to the raid. Your allegations don't pan out in a "legal" fashion. Since legal is so important to you.
But then again, in your world, you just create a legal situation to suit your own opinion.

I saw that report. Yet "that report" doesn't seem to jive with the fact that most of the actual member seem to want to stay and there have been very few actual prosecutions of people doing any real wrongdoing. Lisa Lings report, which compares with the "to catch a pedophile" reports with legitimacy, hardly are compelling. Pedophiles aren't chasing the "14 year old" that they use as bait.

As with "abortion" and soon "same sex marriage", rights can sometimes result in stuff we disagree with.

So I guess National Geographic isn't a reputable journalistic entity? That's who Lisa Ling works for. All the rest of your post is just your opinion without any actual substance. I have told you, and people who left there have said what it is like there, you just choose to disbelieve it, plain and simple.
How much proof do you need to see the way things work in the FLDS?

But we aren't talking about THOSE people. We are talking about THESE people who were raided and had their kids ripped away from them, falsely imprisoned, and railroaded through a kangaroo court based on a false accusation. You wanna talk about opinion, that's every one of your posts in this thread as it actually relates to the topic at hand.

Obviously the way you think the things work is either not abusive by the current legal system or you are just hysterical in FLDS hatred.

These people are the FLDS! What are you talking about? THere is only one FLDS and it's leader was and still is Warren Jeffs. It doesn't matter if they were from the Colorado ity group, or the Texas group, they are the FLDS. And yes, I don't like the leaders of that group, and I would think any sane person would feel the same way about 14 year old girls being forced to maryy and have children.

And it looks like these FLDS STILL weren't doing the stuff you are accusing them of. None of your allegations panned out. No matter how many times you say it, the facts are proving you wrong. There have been 2 or three raids on this group now, and each time the government comes out of it with egg on their faces. If the government has to rely on trumped up fake phone calls and contrived persecutorial laws to build a case against these people, in my opinion, they aren't doing anythign wrong in the first place.

Kerrville Daily Times

I wonder what will be the long term cost of this raid for court ordered counselling for what amounts to an entire town. And if the men are convicted of polygamy, you might have several women who would then qualify for the very social programs that they have been accused of abusing. LOL.
