Not in my opinion...It shows that stereotyping the roles of women AND men is outdated. That as a society, we sell both genders short when we divide jobs by gender only. Including roles of parenthood.

Even women get together and talk about what bullshit the programming is. I think it's funny that some women use it to punish their husbands. My mom makes me watch househunting and decorating shows when she want to aggravate me.

DESPITE what your links claim about LMN, doesn't erase the hundreds of schedualed programs on LMN that are singing the praises of men as well as women.

It's programming is very balanced in showing BOTH SIDES of the roles/actions of women and men in our society.

Yeah yeah okay...I'm so sure. That second link was a discussion group sorta like this one. I didn't place any "stock" in it, I just think it's funny that women speaking among themselves even discuss Lifetime's cheezy man-hating programming. The vast opinion of Lifetime is that it is a manhating channel, deal with it. That was just off the first page of a quick google.

Well then...Guess if we use your method of determining whether a channel is a 'hate channel', then we should hold stock in those that make claims that BET is a 'whitey-hating/racist' station as crediable too?

Of course...I'm going to have to rethink the martial art channels my hubby loves to 'force' me to watch with him...I'm sure there's a board or blog out there that talks about how it's anti-whatever and spouses talking about how they like to 'punish' their SO's with certain programs on it...

You're going to find people of every genre type who don't like this/that movie wise...As well as those who take delight in 'forcing' those in their households to watch certain movies/shows they know will aggrivate the heck out of them...

BUT that still doesn't make the claims 'against' valid at all. It's about personal likes/dislikes in some story lines period...And it doesn't change the fact that the programming itself on said stations that make it clear it's not all about 'hating whoever' when the stories also included show a positive role, not hate.

Who claims that? If anything the programming on BET is more demeaning to black people with all those booty shaking videos and such. I'd like to see a little of those claims though, I've never heard them. Methinks bullshit. BET was bought out by white people (Viacom)long ago.

I already mentioned that my wife does it to me with her own favorite genre. Luckily she hates Lifetime as much as I do.

But in THIS case, we are talking about Lifetime. "Those people" will have to wait their turn for us to discuss them.

It's all about perception though. Ask Obama, Wright, and Sean Bell. And Lifetime is perceived to be a man-hating channel. Deal with it.

Funny, but I didn't say that was the ONLY way to view the station FX. I said GUESS we should hold stock in those who make those claims. There are white supremist boards that harp about how IF there was a 'White Entertainment Channel' that people would go bonkers screaming racism. Of how having such a station shows just how 'racist' the movies selected are against whites.

Again, not my claim or even my perspective. BUT it is a claim made by those that are against focusing on the lives of blacks through either entertainment or 'National Black History Month' movies.

Doesn't matter who started the channel, whether it was 'whites or blacks'...The simple thing is there are those offended by the very thought of a 'seperatist type' of black anything.

Also, although some of the programming leaves a bit to be desired, there's also good programs as well...Especially their action movie programming that is presented....It's not all about gangbanging, rapping, 'living in the hood' type of programming.

In fact, a great deal of the movies we watch on BET aren't specifically 'Black' movies...Their some of the greatest movies that have some of the greatest black actors/actresses in them, so are put on BET for ALL viewers to enjoy.

I personally have no intrest in it myself, because although I'm not a martial arts movie fan myself, it's not enough of a big deal to me to invest time into dissing it for those that do enjoy watching them. But there's those that feel they need to vent on-line about it I'm sure...Not to mention those that are anti-Asian straight out so look for any excuse to diss Asians or shows that focus on Asians...

There's boards out there that hate just about every type of sport orientated genre or group of peoples...So your 'oh, it couldn't exsist' is kind of ignorant of you darling. If anyone is 'typing out of their 'a$$', then that dear would be YOU.

So? That still doesn't distract that there's people opposed to other channels, for similar reasons as to those that don't like LMN either. Irregardless of what channel one chooses to watch, there are people who find the 'entertainment' on said station distasteful/inappropriate for any reason their minds create...

Heck, even the Disney Channel gets it's fair share of haters all over the internet.

But just because someone may not like this/that program on a given channel, of what they say about said programming being 'hateful, wrong, inappropriate', doesn't mean that another viewer sees it the same way. It also doesn't take into count, that the claims made about said station being all about 'this/that' is true...Especially when the programming on said station is as diverse in it's content as the opinions of the viewers who do watch one or two shows on said channel...

There's positive movies as well as non-positive movies on every given channel...No matter if that channel is BET, LMN, TrueTV, Disney, or whatever...And the viewer has to determine for themselves, what programs they like or dislike and move on when it's not their cup of tea.

EXACTLY what I've been saying...It's about the perception of the viewer only...And just because YOU think it's a man-hater channel or that others agree with your perception it is...Doesn't make it fact.

You can pull out as many blogs or personal discussion sites you wish, agreeing with your perspective, but that DOESN'T mean it's an accurate perception at all.

Unlike you (or your wife), it just seems that some of us manage to find the programming on certain stations that just don't fit into ya'lls 'mold' of what it's supposed to be like?

In otherwords, we just don't throw a station on and settle for what's on it...We actually look through the listings to find those movies and programs that fit our genre on a particular station..And it's actually there, for those that perfer 'informed' entertainment rather then just settling for whatever is on the station.

Just like I proved to you that there's plenty of 'loving men' programming on LMN, that you want to say isn't there or is minimal...ROTFLMAOL!
