Ali, do you remember telling me that you were in a coven and then you changed to another one? Are coven members not witches?

I think if I was a witch, I would just wear the label proudly and let others either like it or lump it. The way I wear fundy or Christian, I don't care what others think about it.

I wasn't saying 'witch' carried a negative meaning...I said that being a 'witch' is a specific path...One I do not follow the traditions of.

Also, I've never told you I belonged to a coven then switched to another one...I told you that I had belonged to a coven, left for several years to pursue as a solitary, then rejoined the same coven the year before last.

Being in a coven doesn't mean being a witch. Some covens are, some are not. I don't belong to a coven that practices witchcraft or it's members witches.

IF I was a witch, followed the path of witchcraft, then I'd have no problem being called one...But I am not a witch nor follow those particular teachings. So to call me one, or insist that that's the path I follow is as incorrect as telling a Christian they are Muslim or Jewish...

Some Wiccans/Pagans do practice witchcraft and consider themselves as witches...But not all. I'm one of those that ISN'T a witch, nor practices witchcraft nor belongs to a coven that practices witchcraft...

Some Witches are Wiccans/Pagans...But not all Witches are Wiccan/Pagan but follow another path instead.

It's like your being Christian...Catholics are Christians but not all Christians are Catholic. Two very similiar teachings, but totally different traditions and practices.

What a lost opportunity.

I find it incredibly hypocritical when Christians openly bash and mock other faiths, but then are the first and loudest to cry persecution at any (real or perceived) slight to their faith.

Oh please, I wasnt trying to bash anyone. In fact I have stayed outta this thread outta respect for there religion. I just made a joke, guess it wasnt as funny as I thought, sooooorrry.

Isn't it funny? You start a thread with the intention of discussing the Wiccan beliefs. The first few posts stay on track, and then the rest you are taking shit for not paying a medical bill. Now, is that funny or what?

Yeah, a laugh riot. Now, back to our regularly scheduled, ON TOPIC discussion.

As a religious leader to be, and already one who has taught others in my religion, it is sometimes tough to be that good example that one needs to be in my position. But your poeple also need to realize that everyone has flaws. My own high priest has made many mistakes along the way, but I still respect him as my friend and teacher, even when others have used his mistakes to break and spit on their oath they made to our coven. So who is in the wrong? The HP that makes a mistake and admits it, or the oath breaker?

Hi Tiger. If you could help me out here, what is it exactly that you teach, or have been taught? Maybe you could give a general description of what your beliefs are. I'd be most thankfull.

He already did that. That was before the all the posts regarding an unpaid medical bill.

I have to defer to Wikipedia, and it has a really good article on Wicca:

Wicca - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But know that there are many different Wiccan traditions, and some things listed there are generalizations. My coven calls itself "Progressive Wicca", a term coined by a very influencial elder in the community named Janet Farrar.
