Oh, and Abraham did not have a child with Sara, until after Hagar had given birth to her son. And God protected Hagar and her son, when Sara exiled them, she was hoping that they would die.

Thank you for the Bible lesson, but I already knew that Ishmael was the first born. God protects all people who need it and call on Him. Americans don't realize or recognize how blessed they really are. Why, our very conversation is not allowed in public in a Muslim country, even most other countries. We are truly as good as it gets as freedoms go.
You are right about most organizations. Christianity is not some country club, socialite religion. It saddens me that you think of me as a hateful, judgemental bigot. That couldn't be farther from the truth. I am the only Christian at my place of work. I have heard rude remarks about my faith. I also don't agree with their lifestyles, but I don't hit them on head with a Bible. I just try to be an example.
If more Christians reached out to people, in love, and lived according to the Bible, than maybe you would be a Christian.

And Gary, your argument is very flawed. It does not take a genius to see how Christianity became the domninant religion of the west. It was through persecution, inqusition, and the burning of any texts that didn't concur with the church. It was the taking over of pre-Christian holy sites by the church and the incorporation of the pre-Christian deities into the religion that kept the peasants coming to church.

And it is you who are being defensive and closed minded on this subject, not to mention entirely to snarky with Tirya. Quit the bullying tactics and use your brain to defend your position.

Enjoy your version of your religion all you like, but stop trying to convince everyone who doesn't agree with you that they are wrong. It might be helpful to act like the Christian that you claim to be.

Thank you. I'm not a hateful bigot. I'm not putting words in your mouth, either. I am not forcing my religion on you, nor will I force my faith on you. Again, you tell me to stop convincing people that my faith is better. This forum is called defending the truth. I believe that faith in Jesus Christ is the truth and the only truth, so I defend what I think is true. You defend what you think is true, and have every right to do so.

I do act like the Christian I claim to be. I haven't attacked your beliefs once. Actually, I don't know what your believe. Please don't judge me when you don't know me. I've not once insulted you with any names, remarks, or judged you based on incidents by people of your religion.
So, please stop singing that song.

Please find me the post where I called you a hateful, judgemental bigot. I am very confused by your persecution complex. I was debating properly and did not insult you.

So if God is so perfect and all powerful, why could he not "make us" the same way? Does he enjoy seeing all his "creations" suffer so badly? Seems more like a kid watching a bunch of ants fight than an all holy father of light and love to me.

When you've created the Heavens and the Earth and everything in them maybe we'll value your opinion above God's.

Until then keep on dancing round that fire.

P.S. and remember God invented fire too

Man invented God, not the other way around. And fire is created when oxygen, fuel, and heat react with each other in a predictable way to ignite it.

But who created oxygen and fuel? And why do they create fire when mixed?

Combustion is a very well known and definite physical process that you can learn about in any basic chemistry class.

As far as where the elements came from? Certainly not a man in the sky who can't even get a couple of naked people to turn away from a snake.

In other words you can't explain it.

You did not call me a hateful bigot. You do give me the impression, through your posts, that you think Christianity and Christians are. You have brought many intelligent questions to this thread. I want you to consider that Christians, in power, are not the only people who persecute and name call.
