Religion What is your take on religion? Do you base your thoughts in life according to your religion? Do you feel that religion should be kept out of Government and Politics?

And you continue to miss the point completely. I realize you understand that we have free will and 'we are doing the disobeying', that free will requires imperfection otherwise it would not be free. Thus free will is imperfect. And God, a perfect entity, supposedly created free will, something imperfect. Creating something imperfect is an act that is categorically impossible for a perfect being.

What case was that? It's not my fault the way your wrote your sentence was awkward. I tell you that I read it that way in actuality, and for you to tell me what I was thinking when I read what you wrote is absurd.

What did I manipulate? You stated that people are healed through miracles.

Anything that includes, but is not limited to, the Middle Ages, inquisition, crusades, witch hunt, manifest destiny, trans-Atlantic slave trade, and supposed God-sanctioned imperialism and eradication of an entire continent of people in the Americas, etc., etc.

If you say so.

And your complete and utter lack of any credible substantiation for such 'statistics' are really helping you establish this fact.

Oops, sorry, Hitler was a Christian with a fetish for the occult. Hardly "in the name of atheism" let alone related to anything near the category of "atheist" in the first place.

I don't feel like attempting to "prove you wrong" when you have done little to prove yourself right.

Though, I can hardly see how this is relevant anyway. You still haven't provided me with an example of someone committing mass murder "in the name of atheism".

If you'd like to think so.

Did I ever call you racist? Quit twisting my words and reading only what you manipulate!

Unlike you I don't pretend to claim to hold the ultimate truth which must be accepted. I'm not in an ivory tower but merely pointing out the rotten structure of your own. I could care less if you're offended.
I'm still waiting for you to enlighten me. So far, you've only made vain attempts to undermine my beliefs. You manipulate my arguments in your favor. So, what do you believe?

Nice dodge, but I'm not going after your straw man. You see the topic of this thread is about Christianity. What I believe is completely irrelevant to what we are discussing.

academically, they cannot. all they can say is "i believe ....." they cannot say "it is the truth that ......"

unfortunately, lots of people are not like this. it takes the capacity to live with doubt and be comfortable with that doubt and uncertaintly. people like certainty, it is comforting, gives a sense of control. simplistic certainties, like "its all part of Gods plan" are appealing to large numbes of people, both intelligent ones and dumb ones.

there are other logical fallacies that persist in supporting this. arguments like "it has been around for 2000 years while other beliefs have perished, so it must be the right one" or "2 billion people cannot all be wrong" or "the book says it is true, therefore i know it is true, therefore the book is right".

logically and adacemically these arguments are fatally flawed, but they too are part of the comforting certainty that prevents people having to face a universe that is frighteningly complex and frighteningly out of their control.

(NB, i understand that this applies to my beliefs too, even to the very arguments i have expressed in this post)

Still waiting.

This thread is called 10 questions intelligent Christians must answer. I explained my stance. You don't like my stance, which is fine; I don't like your stance. There is no debate or topic open for discussion. I like talking about this subject, so I endure your criticism. Don't dodge my questions. You like trying to push me against the ropes. Why are you afraid to tell me what you feel is true?

Also, Stormfront is a forum dedicated to propaganda about how non whites have affected America. I take no part on this forum, (I mean Stormfront to clarify for you, since you have trouble understanding my poor articulation skills) and publicly denounce it. I am a believer in Christ and lend my hand to all people. I hate no one, and would anyone if they need it.

You have such hostility toward Christianity. Most other people have shown me respect on this thread, according to beliefs, but you want to humiliate me. What happened?

To a degree, yes. But I don't go around telling people that what I believe is the one truth and that all others are wrong for believing what they do.

IS that because you lack the courage of your convictions?

Yes, gary, that must be it. And I guess people like the Dahli Lama also lack the courage of THEIR convictions, because they don't go around saying Bhuddism is the only truth. Yep, you nailed it!

Buddhism is more a philosophy than a religion, and Buddha, (aka Siddhartha or Sid to his friends) never claimed to be the one and only God of the Universe.

Try some other dodge
