To say that the moon God of arabia, and the God of Abraham are the same, is to ignore a great deal of information.

You are the queen of ignoring any information that doesn't agree with your version of your religion. No matter the evidence, if you don't like it, it's a lie. And if you must know, the "moon God of Arabia", was actually the moon Goddess, Allat. But you in your infinite wisdom of religious history, already knew that, right? Just like Elohim is a male noun with a feminie ending, which makes the God of Abraham a hermaphrodite God/Goddess.

Islam started hundreds of years after Christianity. Muhammed took scriptures, like Joseph Smith and the Mormons, and interpreted them to fit his own lifestyle. I find it interesting how were murdered. I find it very interesting how Muhammed was killed by one of his wives.

Abraham did have an heir with his real wife, not maid servant. The problem is that he didn't obey the Lord in being faithful to his wife.

I know that polygamy was heavily practiced back then, so don't try to make that arguement. Originally, God created them male and female. One man and one woman. There is obviously a design here.

Actually, the Lord is called Elohim because He is male and female and neither male nor female. He is not a physical, tangible entity that we can touch. He does not have breasts or a penis. He does carry both male and female qualities like tenderness of a mother with the chastening of a father. He is all things and all knowing for all time.

Are you Muslim? You write passionately as if you are one. If you are, then put your faith to the test. Scrutinize your faith, whatever it maybe, against Christianity and see where it takes you. You obviously came to this thread for a reason.

I was once a big opponent of Christianity. I hated Christians, the church, all that stuff. I used to play that Bad Religion song, "Don't Pray on Me," really loud on the radio just to make the christians mad. There are many very, very dumb christians, who don't do their homework.
Then I read about Jesus and the love and acceptance He offers. I realized that christians are not better than anyone else, only forgiven-even though many don't act humble. He doesn't turn anyone away who pursues Him. He won't think you're too bad or wicked. I was a pretty bad guy before I accepted Christ. He won't let you down, but christians can and many times will.

I am not a Muslim. I have no problem with people who are the followers of Jesus, I don't think however, that all of the organisations calling themselves Christian really fit the description. And I know what Elohim means, and as I said, it would include both aspects of gender, whether spiritually or energetically. I wasn't speaking about physicality. And if as you say, God carries all qualities, why do you refer to it as a male?

Oh, and Abraham did not have a child with Sara, until after Hagar had given birth to her son. And God protected Hagar and her son, when Sara exiled them, she was hoping that they would die.

If all these mystical gods and goddesses that were worshipped by ancient civilisations really existed, don't you think they would have kept themselves in the limelight instead of allowing their image to fade into the history books?

Nobody in modernday Greece or Egypt or Saudi Arabia still considers these 'gods' as anything other than fables.

Or to put it another way - is it just an accident that the one real and true God of the Universe is still worshipped by billions of people around the world, and His word has endured for millenia??

I refer to God as Him because that is what He calls Himself. He is our heavenly Father, but definitely not a man or a woman. If God wants to be called our heavenly Mother, then so be it.

Thank you for the Bible lesson, but I already knew that Ishmael was the first born. God protects all people who need it and call on Him. Americans don't realize or recognize how blessed they really are. Why, our very conversation is not allowed in public in a Muslim country, even most other countries. We are truly as good as it gets as freedoms go.

You are right about most organizations. Christianity is not some country club, socialite religion. It saddens me that you think of me as a hateful, judgemental bigot. That couldn't be farther from the truth. I am the only Christian at my place of work. I have heard rude remarks about my faith. I also don't agree with their lifestyles, but I don't hit them on head with a Bible. I just try to be an example.

If more Christians reached out to people, in love, and lived according to the Bible, than maybe you would be a Christian.

"They will know that we are Christians by our love," as the song goes.

That's not true in most other countries or even in most Muslim countries.

In reality there are very few countries that place onerous restrictions on free speech.

We are truly as good as it gets as freedoms go.

Ahem... well I'm not so sure about that either!

It all depends how you choose to define freedom.

It's amazing how far a little bit of force and intimidation and political power goes, innit? A few Crusades here, an Inquisition there, a few strategially-placed theocratic governments...

So it's all a vast right-wing conspiracy???

Why did those ancient moon gods and goddesses allow that to happen?
