No one ever said life created itself out of muddy water. That's preposterous. I would certainly hope that no school is teaching that. It's just as preposterous as Christian teachings! Most schools teach evolution, darwinism and the big bang.

I would love to see ANY evidence supporting christianity.

I'd much rather believe the truth, it's easier than looking for the nice bits of a story to believe in.

Well you can't say:

No abrahamic religion teaches respect for their fellow man...

and then ignore

Matt 5:43-44

43 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy:

44 but I say unto you, love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you;

I think you have to take the Bible in context in its entirety, and I'm not pretending that's easy or straightforward.

But if you want to search for the truth it's in there.

You look even more foolish claiming to know what I do and do not know. I have studied religion thouroughly. I grew up a devout Roman Catholic (the original, and only true form of Christianity) I attended a Catholic School, and a Jesuit University.

I am very well versed in biblical teachings, and I know them to mostly be immoral, non-applicable to real life, and complete rubbish.

I agree that you cannot ignore any parts of the bible. This is why I cannot believe in it. The evil far outweighs the good, and I want to be a moral person, therefore I cannot in good conscience believe in the Bible.

In this case Tadpole...It isn't just 'cherry picking only the nice bits', but cherry picking the bits that support their own personal likes/dislikes. They only keep parts of the picture they like while pretending that the rest of the picture either doesn't exsist, doesn't apply, or should be ignored.

Hence the reason for such a wide range of diversity within Christianity itself. Because there is no one unified, complete ideology...Just fragmented ideologies created from different interpretations based off of personal preferences.

Tad is the one who has cherry picked, without taking in the entire message of the bible. What ever. You people talk of tolerance, but are about the most untolerant bunch of people I have ever seen.

Exactly, therein lies the problem. There is only one truth... One reality. It is not subjective. Truth is not different for one than it is for another, and to believe in that which is CLEARLY not true, and not logical is a delusion. To believe that which is immoral is actually moral is insanity.

I am very tolerant. I am just trying to save people. We MUST think for ourselves in this world lest we be damned to slavery by those who control our thoughts. Religion is little more than a way to control the masses.

I have not cherry picked, in fact I am the only one here who has demanded the consideration of the bible in it's complete form.
