FLDS charges filed...
Indicted: Polygamous sect leader Jeffs, followers charged with sexually assaulting girls - Salt Lake Tribune

ELDORADO, Texas - A Schleicher County grand jury indicted polygamous sect leader Warren S. Jeffs and five other FLDS men Tuesday on charges related to sexual assaults on underage girls.
The grand jury handed down seven indictments, which contained a total of nine charges. Jeffs, currently awaiting trial in Arizona, is accused of one first-degree felony count of sexually assaulting a child.
Four other men were indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting girls under the age of 17. Each of those suspects faces one felony count of sex assault, and one faces an additional charge of bigamy.

Not really enough information to make a determination in the actual charges since we don't know the actual people and the ages. But to prove "systemic" and justify $14 million spent, they better do better than this.

So this means that Jeffs will get moved from Phoenix to EL Dorado, TX.

They knew enough to get their children BACK. Many of them are living off the ranch and still seem to be happy being FLDS. I'm still sorry there WT, your hatred isn't panning out.
I don't know how you figure that it hasn't panned out or isn't panning out. There is an on going investigation into the YFZ compound's members and seven indictments two days ago. Sounds like good progress to me. And I just watched the Senate Judiciary Committee meeting with the law enforcement heads of Texas, Utah, Nevada and Arizona, who are asking that the federal government co-operate with state law enforcement in the investigation of crimes related to polygamy, specifically the FLDS. So it sounds like you are a bit confused on the subject to me.

And I find it very interesting that you consider my concern for the safety and rights of children to be hatred. You are one screwed up mo fo.

There was a 2 year investigation befor that and nothing came of it. Now we have the police looking for 5 men who they won't identify, yet they say the men are "running". What kinda bullshit is that. How do men you won't give the identity of run?
And they are asking the Feds to investigate what? A successful religious institution? Why? Isn't that again persecution? Looks like they had good reason not to trust the government.

You can be concerned for children all you want. Just don't make up bullshit and new persecutorial laws to "trap" people that were otherwise living within the prior ones. I find it interesting that you would advocate denying these people their fundamental rights as parents to persue some pipedream accusations that have yet to be proven to be intrinsic to this group. So far nothing more common has been found in the FLDS that isn't found anywhere else in Texas. You are one f'd in the head itch-be

The federal government has laws on the books that prohibit fraud, racketeering and kidnapping. And it has the tools to investigate them, in cases where the states do not have the resources to do so. I highly doubt that 4 District attorneys or Attorney Gernerals for the 4 states are persecuting a simple religious belief. It is the behavior by those in power that is illegal, not their beliefs. And there are also civil rights issues involved, not to mention the sexual assault of children. But in your mind, if that is a part of your religion, then it's okay to do that. The first ammendment does not protect people who commit crimes even if they believe it is a tenet of their faith.

Fraud and kidnapping huh? None of which have even been alleged yet. You are really off the deep end aincha.

In my mind huh? LOL. You have no idea what my POV is. Even though I have stated it several times. I guess that to be expected from you though. You have you so far proven false idea about this case too.

These hearings are a joke. Just a call for a witch hunt. The FLDS were right to be wary.
?Difficult to penetrate? : Washington : Times Record News
Just repeating the same unproven allegations. How do you have a fair hearing when you don't even allow the people to appear before you to address your concerns. Sad. I hope the Feds don't get involved in this mess. Some curious highlights...
Federal involvement could have led to draining the sect’s financial means to buy hundreds of acres in remote Schleicher County and to build a secretive compound, Abbott said after leaving the hearing.

Tax evasion, racketeering, mail fraud, child abuse and illegally transporting children across state lines for underage marriages were all touched on as suspected offenses during the hearing.

The FLDS has a business empire spread across several states, sect children often don’t attend public schools and the religion’s members are usually more afraid of authorities than harmful sect members because of the disastrous Short Creek raid 55 years ago, federal and state attorneys testified.

Persecution, slander, and I didn't know it was illegal to home school your kids. Do they pass tests designed to monitor home schooled kids? It appears the state doesn't bother....

You can say numerous times that you don't support them, but each time you post you show that you actually do, or you would submit that there is illegal activity going on there, and legitimate evidence to investigate it. The first example is of their leader serving time and being brought up on more charges. I guess that means nothing at all, they must have convicted him without evidence.
