That verse has nothing to do with rich people. Poor people can be just as covetous as rich people.

Nagin explained the cocoa and milk a few days after he said chocolate city, not in the same message.

THAT verse does not SPECIFICALLY mention rich people.
The OTHER verse I quoted CLEARLY DOES.

But tell me. If you were to accuse somebody of "gluttony", who would it be?

Likewise, in accusing somebody of coveting riches, who is more likely?
The rich person? Or the poor person?

So you admit you were taking the verse out of context? It doesn't matter who is more likely. We are discussing what the bible says in that verse and it says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. If anything, it is saying what the root of all evil is. The verse and those before it are not talking about rich or poor people at all. In fact, the verse right before it speaks about those who DESIRE to be rich. There are many wealthy people who get their wealth because they are just talented in that area and know how to manage it. There are tons of poor people desiring to be rich. You see them buying lottery tickets every day or scammers trying to screw people out of their money. Just because you have wealth does not mean you are covetous at all or more likely to be and as far as I know I don't see how you can statistically prove it.

You used the verse to support your theory that rich people are covetous. You were wrong and you can't admit it. What do you think about this verse: I Corinthians 6:9-10.

I used that verse to point out that LOVE OF MONEY was evil.
I never said anything about using that verse to prove "rich people are covetous".

I used that verse, in conjunction with ANOTHER verse, to shed some CONTEXTUAL LIGHT on being rich.

But of course, you were capable of understanding NONE of this...

You never said a word about the verse being about the love of money until I pointed it out. Then you say the verse in Corinthians is bullshit. I think your entire argument is bullshit and I also have come to believe you are a dishonest person who can't admit you were wrong. I'm posing a question regarding why the RELIGIOUS RIGHT, which does believe in the bible, is in bed with the RICH REPUBLICAN party.

It is THEIR situation I am commenting on. Not my own.
I never claimed to believe the bible. I don't need to believe in the bible to point out that hypocrisy. Using the Bible to point out the hypocrisy in others who claim to follow the bible (while I don't believe in the bible) IS NOT dishonest.
