Here is your quote hotshot. Now tell us all what you really meant. Maybe you could have lunch with Mayor Nagin and learn how to spin like he does with "chocolate city".

FOUNDIT66: "Can somebody explain to me how this bible verse exists, yet the religious right lie in the party WITH THE RICH???"

And another bible verse on money...

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

You were talking about rich people. Being rich is not evil or a sin. That verse is saying the LOVE of money is evil. It does not say money is evil. You can never admit you're wrong can you. Typical homosexual who wants everything his way, change definitions, and rewrite history. Pathetic.

CONTEXT Alias.
He was explaining his "chocolate city" comment even as he gave it.

I have no doubt you want to take it out of context, but to do so would be deceitful.

Um. Ex-squeeze me??
"the rich" IS NOT THE SAME AS "money".
"The rich" would be people who, at least some of, COVET money and HOARD money...
... but "the rich" would NOT be referring to the money ITSELF.

You just gave a quote which supported me.
Not you...

OMG Hold the PHONE.
Just a post or so ago you were claiming I was talking about MONEY and NOT the "love of money".
And now you ADMIT I was talking about "rich people" and not JUST MONEY as you earlier claimed???
Geezus. Do you even realize when you stumble head first into proving yourself wrong?

You just quoted me. TWICE.
I never said that it said "money is evil". I NEVER DID THAT.

And I acknowledge that it says "love of money is evil".
Do you think that the rich can't "love money"?

That verse has nothing to do with rich people. Poor people can be just as covetous as rich people.

Nagin explained the cocoa and milk a few days after he said chocolate city, not in the same message.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. You're really are thick.

What do you do for a living. Are you a fiction writer?

THAT verse does not SPECIFICALLY mention rich people.
The OTHER verse I quoted CLEARLY DOES.

But tell me. If you were to accuse somebody of "gluttony", who would it be?
The fat person? Or the skinny person?

Likewise, in accusing somebody of coveting riches, who is more likely?
The rich person? Or the poor person?

So you admit you were taking the verse out of context? It doesn't matter who is more likely. We are discussing what the bible says in that verse and it says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. If anything, it is saying what the root of all evil is. The verse and those before it are not talking about rich or poor people at all. In fact, the verse right before it speaks about those who DESIRE to be rich. There are many wealthy people who get their wealth because they are just talented in that area and know how to manage it. There are tons of poor people desiring to be rich. You see them buying lottery tickets every day or scammers trying to screw people out of their money. Just because you have wealth does not mean you are covetous at all or more likely to be and as far as I know I don't see how you can statistically prove it.

Here is your quote again: "Can somebody explain to me how this bible verse exists, yet the religious right lie in the party WITH THE RICH???

You used the verse to support your theory that rich people are covetous. You were wrong and you can't admit it. What do you think about this verse: I Corinthians 6:9-10.

I used that verse to point out that LOVE OF MONEY was evil.
I never said anything about using that verse to prove "rich people are covetous".

I used that verse, in conjunction with ANOTHER verse, to shed some CONTEXTUAL LIGHT on being rich.

But of course, you were capable of understanding NONE of this...

Why do you keep trying to bring up homosexuality in discussions which are not "homosexual" in nature?

First you say you used the verse to show that the love of money was evil, but you quote talks about the rich republican right. You never said a word about the verse being about the love of money until I pointed it out. Then you say the verse in Corinthians is bullshit. I think your entire argument is bullshit and I also have come to believe you are a dishonest person who can't admit you were wrong. You have done nothing but call me ignorant without proving me wrong. You are a dishonest person.

Then for good measure, you quote the bible to prove your point and then later you say you don't believe the bible and think it is bullshit. That makes you a dishonest person.

Yeah. That was a connection I PERSONALLY was making.
Did you think I was saying that the bible was DIRECTLY commenting on the "rich republican right"?

I would have thought the connection I made, and HOW I was making it, was obvious. But obviously you flubbed it all up...

You are mind-boggling!
I DIDN'T NEED TO say anything about the verse "being about the love of money" because the verse EXPLICITLY SAYS it's about "love of money".

What do you expect?
foundit quoting MotherGoose: Jack and Jill went up the hill.
foundit afterwards: "Mothergoose is saying Jack and jill went up the hill."

It seems so obvious that I don't need to point it out...

Please try to be accurate. I was talking about the BIBLE IN GENERAL being b.s. regarding it being the word of god.

You have repeatedly tried to misrepresent or misinterpret what I said.
And then when I try to correct you, you claim I'm dishonest.

You are absolutely MIND-BOGGLING!

My god you can't see anything but your own perspective, can you.
I'm posing a question regarding why the RELIGIOUS RIGHT, which does believe in the bible, is in bed with the RICH REPUBLICAN party.

It is THEIR situation I am commenting on. Not my own.
I never claimed to believe the bible. I don't need to believe in the bible to point out that hypocrisy. Using the Bible to point out the hypocrisy in others who claim to follow the bible (while I don't believe in the bible) IS NOT dishonest.

It is UNBELIEVABLE how you insist on staring at the sun and calling it the moon!
