Do you think religion has been a contributing factor to a lot of the world's conflicts?

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Isn't that a loaded question? Any idiot with a background in high school history could tell you that it is, but that doesn't mean that said person believes that religion is a negative force.

Democracy causes conflict. Do you think democracy is a negative force?

Any time uneducated people have a strong belief in anything, there is a potential for violent disagreement.

Governments cause conflict too. What about those?

Should the poll instead read: "Do you think there would be less conflict in the world if there was no religion?" Or is that the same circular reasoning?

It's the same.

A better poll question might be "Do you believe that religion is generally a positive or a negative force?" Then for your options you could have Very positive, somewhat positive, both, somewhat negative, very negative, or undecided.
