I think the line is razor thin between cult and religion. We have to remember that spiritual honesty means that no one knows a damn thing. So it doesn't matter if it involves 10 people or 100 million people... they have no way of proving anything about God, it might as well all be a cult.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

He will not agree with that. Christians believe it is and Jesus said it is. The Mormons say yes belief in Jesus AND.......... Nope. Jesus is all Christians need to believe in according to the bible and that is the only book Christians believe in. Mormons believe in 2 books and they believe the book of Mormon supercedes the bible.

And remember, this belief is what Christians believe so it only applies to Christians. Not other religions of the world.
Very good points.

And you are right, he does not believe that Christ alone is the path to heaven.

I think the best description of Mormonism so far is that they are a Christian Cult. That I'd buy off on. Acknowledging that all religions are some kind of Cult. No one argues the fact that they are NOT mainstream Christians, not even my Master Sergeant.

As for me, I believe Jesus is the only way. That is my personal belief. I don't call myself a Christian because there are a lot of Christians I really don't care to be associated with. I am a believer in Jesus. That's all I know. I don't care what religion a person is, just don't tell me to convert or you'll cut my throat. If you do, there is going to be a fight and you are going to die.

I consider myself to be a Christian. I just try to stay away from the looney ones who try to use the Bible as a propaganda tool.

I think those are the ones most of us take issue with.

I agree. Well, the concept behind the pope was to exploit Christianity for power and money. Now its much different, but the pope is just still existing (although a hell of a lot of money still goes to the Pope from Catholics if I'm not mistaken).

But the book of mormon I can't tell. I don't know about it, don't know the history.

Cult is the root word of culture.

Its root word has an agricultural connotation referring to the "care" of new life.

They have a book of mormon because they are MORMONS!

The pope, is like a head priest. Why have a Church? Why have a priest or a deacon or whatever protestants call their priests?

The bible is a finite work. It is not all inclusive. To think anything else is remarkabley narrow minded. Lots of things are not biblical. But we have them.

The Pope is a religious leader, nothing more.
