Interpreting those passages to preclude slavery is a MODERN reinvention of those passages.

And like I pointed out, there are NUMEROUS hebrew slave-owners in the Bible which "God" never said ANYTHING regarding owning slaves to.

I've got a bigger picture perspective, while you are ignoring the rest of the bible to arrive at your "positive" conclusion.

What a load of crap.
If you ERRONEOUSLY believe that the ONLY way the slaves would be freed is from a Christian belief perspective, and based SOLELY on what the bible says, then you would have a point.

But since history has advanced in a lot of cases because people have IGNORED what the bible says and come to their own secular conclusion, THAT is why we are where we are today.

WHY did Christianity not abolish slavery CENTURIES ago if your "interpretation" is so obvious and accurate?

I could ask you the same thing about the secularists. Why didn't the secularists abolish slavery centuries ago if YOUR interpretation is so obvious and accurate? I never said Christianity was the sole reason for the abolition of slavery. You stated it had nothing to do with it and I stated and proved it did by mentioning the underground railroad initiated by Christians and then you demanded bible verses and I gave you 2. You keep moving the goal post and moving the goal post when you get a counter point.

You stated Christians stood in the way of abolition and I pointed out that Christians used the underground railroad, thereby refuting your claim. Anything else?

Say whaaaa?
I think the best way to respond to that misalignment of thought is to ask you to show me which "secularists" advocated slavery...

There is a difference between ChristianITY and ChristianS.
Do you understand that?

Just because a Christian does something doesn't mean ChristianITY was behind the actions of that Christian doing that thing.

Got it?

This is utter crap.
It's like I asked you for shinola, and you give me shit, and insist that you've given me precisely what I ask for.
Those bible verses WERE NOT about slavery.

Christians DID stand in the way of abolition.
Just because OTHER Christians tried to move abolition along doesn't mean that some Christians did stand in the way of abolition.

I can't believe I have to explain this to you.

These acts of violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith. And it's important for my fellow Americans to understand that.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

President Bush also said this"

President George W Bush has said a plot to bomb US-bound flights from the UK is a "stark reminder" that the US is still at war with Islamic extremists.
Mr Bush said it showed "Islamic fascists... will use any means to destroy those of us who love freedom".

I saw and heard that. If you expect anyone to believe he was serious then you are really off the wall. He was joking and smirked after he said it. The man has a sense of humor.

You hate Bush more than the terrorists don't you?

The beast is always smirking, even when he lied (treason) to U.S. that wire tapping is good!

Bush and Cheney on 911 interviewed behind closed doors, refused to take an oath, refused to allow tape recordings and ensured no transcript be kept but they tell us (citizens) they can spy on who ever they choose. Tell Congress to do their job as they pledged to the American people and God to do! Impeach and Indict this administration for TREASON! Remember any PEOPLE are responsible for the regime they are willing to put up with!
