Gentlemen, there is the very real possibility that God had nothing to do with the bible. In fact there is the very real possibility that God doesn't even exist. You guys are so deep into it you probably can't even accept these possibilities. Who could really blame you when you think your afterlife is at stake (and an afterlife that, again, may not exist).

You claim that God had something to do with the bible based on the opinion of people living 2000 years ago. Not much of a source.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Hevusa,

There is the very real possibility that God had everything to do with writing the bible. In fact, there is a very real possibility that God exists. You believe Aristotle's writings of over 2000 years ago.

People can argue the intelligence and wisdom that went into Aristotle's writings.

Nobody is saying "Well, Aristotle said this, so it has to be true and adhered to..."

Don't take these questions to be contemptuous of Christianity. I'm just interested in your response to these two questions, and of other Christians' responses, considering you say that "the bible explicitly states"...well then I must ask of you, why should I believe the bible in the first place. Why should I believe in the legitimacy of what it says before I even face the point you pose?

I may agree and disagree with things Aristotle wrote over 2000 years ago but I would never base my morality and spirtuality on something that was his opinion. That would be insane.

There is no objective evidence that God had anything to do with the bible. It is just speculation and conjecture and to base anything off of that is very strange to say the least.

I never said you had to adhere to the bible. You can do as you please.

And that is your opinion only, no more.
