I don't have anything against Islam or most Muslims, I am not an idiot, and I am afraid to ask what Prohibition has to do with anything. Considering that wine is used in several religious rites, we weren't that keen on it, historically.

Yeah but that choice comes with consequences.. The law of the land in the US is that a man can legally carry all the booze he wants... if a cabbie don't like it he should just move to the end of the line..

I don't believe in special dispensations for muslims because of their religion..

And Alias, just because a bunch of cabbies says it is "islamic" does not mean that this is the absolute only islamic viewpoint..

FOr instance i used to be a bartender and bar manager in Copenhagen.

Why 112 cars are burning every day
By Charles Bremner

A year after the Paris riots violence and despair continue to grip the immigrant suburbs

FLAMES lick around a burning car on a tiny telephone screen. Omar, 17, a veteran of France’s suburban riots, replayed the sequence with pride. “It was great. We did lots of them and then we went out and torched more the next day.”
Omar, whose parents immigrated from Mali, was savouring memories of the revolt that erupted 12 months ago from his home, the Chêne Pointu estate in Clichy-sous-Bois, in the eastern outskirts of Paris. “We’re ready for it again. In fact it hasn’t stopped,” he added.

Stinkin' Baptists!

Always beheading people, causing riots, burning everything in sight, and sneaking into Presbyterian wedding parties and blowing themselves up.

I get SOOOOO sick of that!

Blame the U.S. The mullahs use the U.S. to help them keep the masses convinced that they must stay together to fight the great satan. Yes, blame the U.S. -----

The muslims have been doing these things to other people for 1400 years, long before the U.S. was in existance, but I can see how having a common perceived enemy can galvanize the masses.

As you've said yourself several times, hk, your sect is not recognized by islam. You've also said you haven't read the koran, but you know more about the religion than 90-some percent of muslims. Do you see a discrepancy here?

I will look forward to posting thoughts on the early days of mohammad after he raised his army and took off across the land, and of the Jewish population that mohammad tried to exterminate 1400 years ago. I haven't forgotten, but I won't be able to engage until I get to Thanksgiving vacation, I think. Oh, I realize I'm in a different thread. I'll find my way back to our original discussion when the time comes.

Look it is a well known fact that the mullahs use the US to garner support from common muslims. Whether it is righteous or not is not the point. The POINT is that it is a FACT that US actions around the world canVERY EASILY be stated as an example of WHY people should join together against them. It is in the US' OWN INTEREST to counter such propoganda by presenting behaviour that does NOT confirm the prejudice of the US being an imperialist invader.

Yeah sort of how the US galvanized against the commies followed by the "terrorists" these days. NEvertheless the fact remains that it IS a powerful which needs to be dealt with. YOu can't jsut say it's a lie and then let it be.

Yup my sect is not accepted by the mullahs because the basic theological precepts upon which our sect is based DENIES any political or ideological power to a clerical class. I move about in Pakistan without people knowing that i am offcially a "non- muslim". The point is that the mullahs do the shit talkin and the common man just listens to them because all other sources of information are considered unreliable. That is not due to the "evilness" of Islam or the common muslim, but rather due to the power grabbing attempts of the mullah minority ( kinda like how the catholic priests used to have a disproportionate amount of power compared to their numbers.)

I am VERY interested in knowing where you got information of mohammad's vast pillaging hordes. As per all the history i have ever read in my life mohammad never went ont he rampage, he never committedc war crimes, he never killed for vengance, he never tried to exterminate jews or any other people, and he never engaged in offensive warfare.

If you have information contradicting that i would like to know the sources.
