Is this how a 'Peaceful Religion' Acts?
Is this the act of a peaceful religion? A civilized religion? One not based on hate?

Tadpole, good to see you.
I'm in no way defending the students who participated in the stoning of this girl, but it seems to be a case of "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing."
If the students had known all the facts regarding the participation of fasting during Ramadan, then this probably wouldn't have happened as there are exclusions to fasting, which can be of a personal or medical nature.
As for the cruelty of children however, I give you the following example. In the schoolyard whenever there was a fight, the kids would circle around and egg on the participants, or taunt one and encourage the other, here in the USA. The spectators seemed to feed off the energy of each other, becoming frenzied like piranhas in bloody water. Eventually a teacher or aide would come break it up and things would abruptly go back to normal.
I'm pretty sure that it was kind of the same thing, with an underlearned religious conviction thrown into the mix.
But, yes, parents and religious leaders do need to start teaching peaceful alternatives in conflict resolution. Stoning someone because they piss you off isn't the answer.
Our Task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures, the whole of nature, and its beauty.

I am not a human being having a spiritual experience, I am a spiritual being having a human experience.

The ancient Greeks used to say, "You shall know a man by the friends that he keeps." Given the nature of their friends and advisers, what are we to conclude about the Republican party:
Stop the madness before us it stops!

Believe me, I certainly understand. I just wish the world would teach less religion and more tolerance.

I agree.

There is a singer named 'Brighteyes' he has a great song called 'When the president talks to god'. I think he did it on Leno. You should look it up.

Unfortunately, this is only a minor event unveiling classical Islam's ugly nature. Far worse happenings are recorded here: TheReligionofPeace.com - Islam: Making a True Difference in the World

Religion is not a competition. The fact that Islam is cruel, perhaps more cruel than other religions does not free those religions from crulety themselves.

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said "I do detest it [the Bible]... as I detest all things that are cruel."

Actually, it was Thomas Paine in his treatise, The Age of Reason, who said that.
