Religion What is your take on religion? Do you base your thoughts in life according to your religion? Do you feel that religion should be kept out of Government and Politics?

Islam still follows the Hammurabi Code which is why somebody responded with the "Why not just be-head them"? quote. They do enforce their own laws - probably better than most religions- and no, I do not defend criminal behavior of any kind. However, I do know that man has been fighting over religion for all of recorded time; and its time to stop. Personally, I was just as sickened as I'm sure all of you were by the events of 9/11.

I'm not going to start any personal attacks here; but can you find where it says to hijack airplanes and crash them into buildings in the Koran? These were the acts of individuals and not the religion. Likewise, can you find in the Bible where it says that our clergy must(or even should) sexually molest the young followers of Christianity? Again; these are the acts of a few and not the acts of a whole religion. Why not just be-head them?

Why is "religion" blamed for 9/11? Christains, Jews, Buddist, ect ect, had nothing, nor would have anything to do with something like that. Why cant you just say it, THE PROBLEM IS ISLAM. Just a few guys highjacking some planes hu? Then why did the entire middle east chant and parade in the streets, THANKING GOD for 9/11, and calling us the "GREAT SATAN" to be destroyed. Ok im done, now go back to telling me how christains used to blah blah blah.

And it will get alot worse before it gets better. Ever read about the president of Irans view on end time events?

You would be hard pressed to find that vs in the koran. Considering it was written 1400 years before planes existed. But theres enough teaching from the koran on this very thread to clearly see where there coming from. Those men are burning in hell right now. An so will those from the RCC who molested children. But thats the difference, I as a christain will stand for the children harmed by the RCC, and condem them for there actions. But I bet you cant find a single muslim thats ashamed there prophet married a 6 year old little girl.

Christians consider the 10 commandments a moral code and law whereby they live their lives. The 10 commandments are old testament law. If the old testament law is not Christianity, then the 10 commandments are not Christianity, according to you. You can't pick and choose some old testament law and not others, that is unfair, and according to Christianity, would be ignoring equally divine word, and therefore punishable by death by stoning.

I know Christianity, as I was a Christian. And I am not judging Islam and its beliefs, but rather organized religion all together. And like you know Islam?

According to your own logic, you are arrogant and ignorant. Because you are calling me ignorant for claiming to know what Christianity believes and what Islam believes.

That was a very weak argument, with little to no merit at all. How do you know if I know or do not know Christianity and Islam? In fact, it's only foundation was on assumption, that I, a former Christian, do not know anything about these two religions and therefore basing my judgments on ignorance. You couldn't be more wrong, and in fact I refute this very line of thinking in my previous post if you had actually read it. I said it was illogical, ignorant, and arrogant to assume that either religion are "evil" simply based on the violent actions of a few.

Hence, those Muslims that are protesting the Pope are ignorant, Muslims that think Christianity is evil because of the US invasions are ignorant, and JayD and yourself are ignorant for calling Islam evil because of 9/11.
I dont call Islam evil just cause of 9/11. You seen there track record on human rights? Abuse to women? Were talking about countries who make BILLIONS of dollars a year selling oil, yet there people starve. BTW for someone who claims to have been a christain, your not very informed. One last time, for the record-the ten commandments are the written word of God. Meant to lead all of mankind. Moses law on the other hand, was made to govern the Jews of that day. And it was Gods way of showing the people that we could never follow the law, cause its perfect, and we are not. There for we must depend on him for salvation.

I will once again quote Romans 7:1-6

Romans 7

1Do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to men who know the law—that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives? 2For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. 3So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.
4So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. 5For when we were controlled by the sinful nature,[a] the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. 6But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

It's interesting that, as we speak, President Asswipe of Iran is declaring that they WILL wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

...and everybody just sits and smiles as they listen.

Idiots. It's time to wake up!

That's what I call "rewarding bad behavior". It isn't forgiveness until they repent and want and ask to be forgiven. This is another reason I believe Christianity is looked on with disgust. They just don't get it.

You're right, they don't get it. They are ignorant of Christianity and Islam. The people who are spouting that Christians are just as bad as muslims are ignorant of the bible and the quran. Political correctness.
