Idiots With Too Much Time
Interesting.

The ACLU rears its ugly head - again - and shows it's anti-christian bigotry.
A group of hysterical girls is screaming and crying about free speech.

I wonder how different this whole thing might be, if the signs read, "Keep Muhammad Off My Penis!!!".

BREITBART.COM - Group Sues R.I. College Over Signs

Quote:
A group of students sued Rhode Island College on Monday, accusing it of violating their free speech rights by taking down signs that read, "Keep Your Rosaries Off Our Ovaries."

The college's Women's Studies Organization posted the signs near a campus entrance last December amid complaints that some pharmacists had refused to fill prescriptions for contraceptives because of their personal beliefs.

A priest spotted the signs and alerted the president of the college, who ordered them taken down, the students said.

"The issue is this is a public university, and a public university can't abridge anyone's free speech rights _ including the students," said Jennifer Azevedo, an ACLU attorney representing the students.

College officials said in a statement that they had not seen the lawsuit and had no comment. But they said the college encourages a "robust exchange of views and ideas."

After the signs were taken down, Rhode Island College president John Nazarian told the students they did not have the required approval to hang them, according to the students.

But the students said that they had been told they had the necessary clearance, and that the entrance area had been used over the years to display various messages.

An anti-abortion student group at the college, RIC 4 Life, issued a statement Monday calling the signs offensive and disrespectful.

I thought college is where you go to learn something? Looks like it is becoming a magnet for every granola head in the country.

Screw the signs, my probably is with making someone do something that is against their beliefs. A pharmacist should have the right to say I will not prescribe this medication because it goes against my values. Just as a Doctor should have the right to say I will not perform an abortion because it goes against my values. This is what is meant by being a person of principle.

I find it laughable that these individuals are complaining about their signs being taken down. Having been a conservative on a college campus this was a regular occurrence when it came to our signs, however, in our case it wasn't the college doing it, it was the so-called tolerant, diverse, open-minded, liberal left. Hmmm, seems they are getting a taste of their own medicine and they don't like it. Well what is good for the goose is even better for the gander.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

And there's a fundamental truth: Liberals are open, tolerant of and loving to EVERYONE - who doesn't disagree with them.

I wasn't aware that pharmacists prescribed, but that's beside the point. So by the same token, you have a problem with making muslim women swim or exercise in mixed company? Or making muslim cab drivers transport persons with alcohol?

I see your point. There is no law saying the muslim women have to go to that gym. Build their own gym.

Good point, alias. I should not have included the gym incident since it was not work related. Thanks.

Now here is a guy with too much time on his hands and looking for trouble. I think he needs a sleeping pill, a permanent one.
