From a REAL news source, instead of some lame blogger who quotes something that doesn't even claim what she says...
Imad Hamad, regional director of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, which lodged a formal complaint with Fitness USA on behalf of Sultan, said the recent spate of conflicts results from a growing intolerance of Islam and a growing restiveness among Muslims that their rights to speak freely and worship are increasingly at risk.

"They (Muslims) are resenting that they are to be suppressed from expressing themselves freely, like others," Hamad said.

"It's OK for a Christian fellow or a Jewish fellow to pray, and it would be regarded highly and respected. When it comes to a person of Muslim faith, especially if a woman is wearing the head cover or a man with a typical clergy outfit, yeah, it is becoming like something that is offensive to people and making them nervous."

Sultan said that, like all pious Muslims, she prays five times daily. She also wears a veil and a long dress, in observance of her faith.

Over the years, she said, her three o'clock prayers often occur while she was in the gym. On Nov. 29, she and a friend noticed the time and looked for a quiet place, out of the way, to pray.

The pair used a closet off of the locker room.

Born in Jordan, of Palestinian descent, Sultan arrived in Detroit 17 years ago, before moving to Dearborn. She is an American citizen.

Sultan said she came to the United States to secure her freedom and to avoid intolerance.

"We're here in the great United States and for this happening, it truly breaks my heart," she said. "You know, things are starting to change backwards, instead of frontward. We need to keep this United States, our country, up on our shoulders. We don't want it to go down."

I'll ask again. Do you know what dhimitude is? Piss on her. Her idea of freedom and my idea of freedom are not the same. I will not submit and it looks like a few women in Dearbornistan will not submit either.

Oh, and here is another sweet story of muslims. Isn't this nice.

I know what it actually means.
I suppose you are embracing the perjorative abuse of the term?

You haven't a clue what her idea of freedom is.
And quite frankly, YOUR idea of "freedom" isn't the same as a lot of Americans...

Submit to what?
What the heck did she do to you?
Can you quote an actual NEWS article and show what she supposedly did to "a few women in Dearbornistan"?

It's amazing how Lucy has come back in the form of Alias with a shifted prejudice towards Muslims isntead of Jews...

The simple fact of this matter is that Muslims know that they must say prayer five times each day. Morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, sun-set and night prayers in which they must face to Mecca and perform the ritualistic prayers as required by their faith. I have no problem with them doing this, however, the problem does arise when they do this in public places. During the prayer there are many ritualistic motions they must perform, including kneeling prostate in submission to Allah.

Sorry folks but in a public place this can cause problems. It is that simple. I am sorry but people have the right to walk in and out of locker rooms without having to be obstructed. People have the right to walk through Airports without being obstructed or submitted to hearing others pray.

For all those who time and again attack Christianity on this forum where is your outrage over this??? Oh that's right, its not Christianity that is involved in this religious dispute so its okay. HYPOCRITS!!!!!!!!

Common sense should apply. If you know you have to pray five times a day, I can understand the need for space at work, however, working out in a gym is an optional choice on your part. If your workout time interferes with your prayer time, perhaps you need to change your prayer time.

Its that simple!!!!!! Obviously someone's gym time is interfering with their prayer time. Seems like someone needs not special treatment, but a little training in time management.

Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles

But you're not explaining to us why Dhimitude is okay and/or why it is so prominent in Islam.

Notice how the resident muslims and his water carrier foundit both dance around the issue and resort to insults. I'll take that as "I don't have a clue, but if I did, Alias is still wrong".

I would expect nothing less than absolute truth from the two women. Why should they lie? Being religious they obviously ...

Okay. I thought I could pull that off with a straight face but I couldn't...
---------------------------------

My position is not that these Muslim women have proven innocence. It's that NEITHER side, innocence or guilt, has enough information to form a real objective opinion.

A couple of other observations.

1) WHAT MOTIVATION would these women have for PICKING a fight?
I acknowledge that one of the possibilities is that things just got out of hand. Perhaps one woman bumped another, and continued praying, and blocking a locker might have been involved, and yadda, yadda, yadda...
But for the "Muslims picking a fight" approach, the question is WHY?
The statements I quoted pretty much eliminate any hope that they were trying to make the U.S. look bad by picking a fight and blaming Americans.

2) WHERE is the other woman who supposedly "harassed" these two Muslim women? Why hasn't she stepped forward to tell her story?
She has been essentially silent in the press, with no reply to the Muslim women saying that she pushed and harassed the Muslim women.
