Religion What is your take on religion? Do you base your thoughts in life according to your religion? Do you feel that religion should be kept out of Government and Politics?

My two cents?

I believe that we, and every generation to now are and have been in the "end times," what does that mean? simply this. You go about your life, living it the way you choose to do so. Sooner or later, you'll reach the end of it, just like every person ever born so far on this Earth, a few biblical exceptions noted, then you die. That is the moment of "end-time" that every one of us faces.

My Grandparents thought they were living in the "end-times," my Parents thought they were living in the "end-times," many people today think they're living in the "end-times," and the reality is, for all of us, in every generation, time does end. "No man knows the hour." True. Who can say for sure when death may come for him or her? It is idle to speculate on, "Now is the time."

The thing to do,by my reckoning, is to simply live the best life one can, expressed nicely by OD, always holding Jesus Christ up as our example, and role-model, and being ready to meet Him at the hour of His choosing.
Since the rebirth of Israel, we have been in the last days. So (depending on how old you are) your grandparents, and parents were correct. But it hasnt been till of late, that things have been really moving forward in the prophecy time table. It is written, "in that day there will be mockers that seek after there own desires, saying where is the promise of his coming? For things have been the same since our fathers, and there fathers before them" Oh the times have come. Jesus commanded us to watch and to recognize the signs of our times. And to pray that, on that day we be found worthy to escape the things to come, and to stand before the son of man.

Redeem the time, live a day at a time. Love truly, forgive readily, share easily, work hardly! ...Yikes! On a roll with the -ly words! Just hard I mean!!!

To heck with what happens next, we are in the Eternal Now now, if we just believe.

Well, no offense, but why would you seek to bring confusion to a topic by posting things you dont even believe? Considering you dont believe it, It seems to me your just taking shots at me for believeing in something you dont. I mean, it wasnt even your point of view.

No JayD. I did not aim to bring confusion. Ummm, you are confused about my motive!

I might believe it. I find it just as viable a paradigm of God and human history as your dispensational theology. Perhaps more so.

Christians have many doctrines regarding the end times. Amillinial, preterist, dispensational. And within each of those more broad umbrellas, there are smaller groups that huddle around splinter issues.

I posted it to bring you a new thought ...your request was for someone to bring something to the table. I felt I was doing that.

I also would like to say that the link I supplied is meaty and the post I made after is like a good cold beer with a frothy head on it on a hot summer's day. Refreshing, unpretentious and clearly golden!

No need for me to go to that website. The first Church I became deeply involved in was preterists. Many times I stood in defense of the theory. Biblicaly however, it just doesnt hold water. If all biblical prophecy has already happened, then we got the raw end of the deal. Where is the everlasting peace, on our new earth? When does the lion sleep with the lamb? These are future events.
