| Guest Posts: n/a | Just going by the subject at hand, the bible clearly says homosexuality is a sin. I think he calls it a abomination, cause he knew this day would come, and people would refuse to even consider it sin. Now weather folks believe the bible is the literal word of God, is on them. To me, our eternity depends on it. Why even take the chance? | |

| OhDear, this is a very interesting subject. And I could discuss it with you for hours. Perhaps you would be interested in an email discussion? I can't pretend to be focused on the issue when interrupted with 'homo' this and 'homo' that - and disingenuous people complaining that people call them ignorant when doing so, and finding themselves bereft of any understanding why. However. One thing I've noticed is that nobody ever mentions that Jesus states quite clearly that the reason for the fall of Sodom was the lack of charity the residents possessed. There is not even any mention in the story of Sodom that the gang rapists were homosexuals! There is no question that homosexual rape was often used in those days as a form of submission and power - but, would Lot truly have been dumb enough to offer his daughters to a gang of raving homosexual rapists? LOL I don't think so. And - by the way - there is no mention whatsoever in the New Testament about homosexuality except that it's condemned as ritual prostitution. Now, it's true Paul didn't like homosexuals - but, LOL, if you read the book, you'll see that he didn't really care much for anybody - including women in general. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Are you very certain JayD that the comma separating male prostitutes from homosexuals was written by God, or did man put it in there? Do you know how many times when I have done editing, I have gotten carried away with commas? And formerly in the text of your post, you wrote this: Quote:
Do you fundamentally believe that after the flood, angels were able to even have sex with humans? OD

As for women's place in domestic society, the Pauline teaching was most explicit: “As the Church is subject to Christ, so let wives be subject in everything to their husbands” (Ephesians 5:24). Now, perhaps saying he was 'against' women was the wrong words to use. He simply felt they were inferior and second-rate.

My Bible doesn't use the word 'homosexual' - it uses the word 'pederast.' I also find it interesting the word 'male' preceeds prostitutes. Do you think that this means that female prostitutes are acceptable? Or, like me, do you believe that this wording is used specifically to condemn the (very common) ritual of male prostitution in the temples?

4"Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female' 5 and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate." Romans 1:18-32 is not talking about male prostitution. It is very clear it is talking about homosexual behavior. The wrath 13 of God 14 is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them. 20 Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse; 21 for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened. 22 While claiming to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes. 24 Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts 15 for the mutual degradation of their bodies. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural, 27 and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity. 28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper. 29 They are filled with every form of wickedness, evil, greed, and malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, and spite. They are gossips 30 and scandalmongers and they hate God. They are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness, and rebellious toward their parents. 31 They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. I see in these passages that Jesus states clearly marriage is between a man and a woman. Paul clearly explains homosexual behavior and other sins of the homosexual. What do you see Tristanrobin? Paul also states we are all one in Christ in Ephesians. He states there is no Jew, Greek, male or female. Whe he means we are all equal and the same. In the Christian family, the man is the head. That is Christian doctrine. That does not make him "better". You better study the entire bible and not just pick and choose the ones you think favor your thinking becuase they don't if anyone really studies the scripture. I love it when homos use the bible. Come on bible scholar. Last edited by alias; 12-31-2006 at 05:40 PM.

| If you read my posts - which you must have, since you you responded - you read that I will not discuss issues that I consider important with name-calling, slur-hurling bigots. I don't mind getting into a middle school tussle with them. But I don't discuss important issues with people who have proven themselves to be contemptible to me. So you can go back to the other threads, on which you call names and sling slurs like dirt clods - and I'll respond in kind. But I won't discuss issues of importance or things I consider sacred with such a person. We all have our limits and standards. I'm sure you understand. My last post to you on this thread.
