I had shared a link to peruse in all seriousness on a thread in another forum here at the DTT. It seems to have been unnoticed though, and because I find it to be a solid read to do, I want to share the link again here in the Religion Forum.

I have not read it all yet myself, but I did look at some of the issues concerning Biblical Text and also the matters of what makes something sin. I am not saying that I agree with it all either, and in some ways, I do not, though I have yet to read all 79 pages myself. But I do believe there is some good sustaining thought put forth and worthy of our consideration as we look to be Christlike to all mankind.

I would hope we could dialog about it some here. And since I am posting it again in the Religion Forum, it is like we will be discussing this in "church"

I've read through it and, honestly, it brings nothing new to the debate about homosexuality and the Bible.

Whether homosexuality is wrong or not - according to the Bible - is pretty clear.

Genesis 13 is the account of the city of Sodom being destroyed because of the wicked, homosexual behavior of the men of the city.

Leviticus 18:22 & 20:13 make it perfectly clear that homosexual sex is detestable to God.

1 Corinthians 6:9 makes it perfectly that "homosexual offenders" (as well as a whole host of other sexually impure people) will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The only way to argue that these verses don't say what they really say is through a convoluted, complicated series of arguments and angles that basically say "the Bible doesn't really say what it clearly says."


Now... how gays & lesbians ought to be treated is a discussion that is seperate from the basic truth of what the Bible says.

I think everyone should be treated the same. HOWEVER, when homos call others ignorant, bigots, liars, etc, they have no right to complain when the name calling gets thrown right back at them. People have the right to express their views without name calling. I'm easy to get along with unless you call me ignorant or a liar. Then you have shown me you are ready to get down and dirty. Your choice.

It is written, in the Bible: "If a man has intercourse with a man as with a woman, they both commit an abomination. They shall be put to death; their blood shall be on their own heads." -- Leviticus 20 v 13

I think that this is pretty straight forward as a Law of God. How could this be disputed?

Easy. All you have to say is you don't believe it and anyone who does is ignorant. I've never met a homo yet who believes the bible. Anyone?
