Cannot that need that you see of man needing woman and woman needing man be met in other platonic and yet intimate relationships, corresponding hearts of motherhood, sisterhood, friendship or fatherhood, brotherhood, and yes again friendship?

Ok, here's the thing. According to the Bible, one of the basic needs that God gave us, was/is the need to procreate. Another way that we were created in the image of God. He creates, we procreate. The reason homosexuality was called an abomination in the bible, and this is just my humble opinion, is that for a homosexual couple, the need to procreate is obviated. There is no fulfillment of God's design, and that is abominable, therefore, according to the Bible writers, an abomination. It's taking a gift that God gave us, mankind, and using it for an unintended end, i.e. homosexuality.

Notice that I haven't said how I feel about homosexuality? I have merely been stating what the Bible clearly says, and giving an opinion as to why the writers put it that way.

Personally, I have nothing against Gay/Lesbians. If, in fact, their behahior is against God's grain, then that is between them and Him. None of my business, and last time I checked, I wasn't qualified to judge anybody.

You certainly could be right on with that view. When I think of why God seperated Homosexuality among other sin, by calling it a abomination, I think of how people refuse to even call it sin, or wrong(if one doesnt believe in sin)That maybe in its self the reason for the lable. Just a thought.

I doubt that, sincerely JayD! Otherwise when God is recorded to disdain gluttony and even says that a man given to appetite would do well to take a knife to his throat, hmmm, maybe that "sin" ought to be called an abomination too? Cos there are a whole heck of alot of upstanding Christian folk who sheepishly smile as they go up to the potluck line a number of times, already nearly requiring their own zip code for how gluttony has gotten a hold on them.

What does this have to do with why God calls homosexuality a abomination? Why do you feel God has called homsexuality a abomination?

In it's way, Gluttony is an abomination, although not specifically named that in the Bible. It IS listed as one of the 7 deadly sins, though, which are all close enough to abomination to count, if you ask me.

I like that, OD, about the pot-bellies, in the potluck line....LOL, and so true!
I wouldn't dream of sitting there, mouth hidden behind my hand, mooing inconspicuously, while they graze, either! ;D

Are you really? Are you absolutely sure about that? Or are you assuming a stance from ignorance?

Well, then. I feel sorry for you. People who consider themselves whole, a self-contained unit, if you will, are suffering from dissociative behavior disorder.

This is very commonly displayed, as a symptom of psychopathic behavior, of which there is no known cure, or effective modification technique.
