Perhaps this was a valid question before we understood genetics, but it is no longer. In fact, the way organisms are structured, evolution is inevitable. Each organism, even the simplest bacterium, has a genome, consisting of thousands to many millions of base pairs. Observation has established that each base pair is subject to occasional mutation. Different populations have different mutations, and if they are isolated from each other, these populations inevitably become more different from each other from generation to generation. Even this simplest of all possible scenarios represents evolution. If one adds further biological processes, such as recombination and selection, the rate of evolution accelerates exponentially. Therefore, the mere fact of the existence of genetic programs makes the assumption of a stationary world impossible. Evolution is thus a plain fact, not a conjecture or assumption.

It is very questionable whether the term “evolutionary theory” should be used any longer. That evolution has occurred and takes place all the time is a fact so overwhelmingly established that is has become irrational to call it a theory. To be sure, there are particular evolutionary theories such as those of common descent, origin of life, gradualism, speciation, and natural selection, but scientific arguments about conflicting theories concerning these topics do not in any way affect the basic conclusion that evolution as such is a fact. It has taken place ever since the origin of life.”

Oh, plenty.

I just like to post quotes containing conclusions that I agree with yet couldn't muster a way to speak myself as clearly as the person whom I am quoting.

So then, what happens to your belief system-if anything-if life is found outside Earth, such as on Mars or on an outer planet moon?

(I think it is inevitable that life exists elsewhere.)

I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

What belief system is it to which you refer? I also think that it is inevitable that life exists elsewhere....but that doesn't deny God, does it? That doesn't mean the entire universe wasn't "created."

It just means that the Bible forgot to mention the fact that God created other intelligent life in the universe.... yeah, tough sell there.
I'm sure if aliens land people will find some obscure passage to back it up in the Bible. Faith is a powerful intoxication.

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

What are you even talking about here?

I mean, yes, you're evidencing your anti-christian bigotry, but what in the world are you talking about?

I'm saying that even if an alien race landed in D.C. tomorrow a Christian could still find something in the Bible to explain when God had a chance to create said alien race.

That is how intoxicating the religious point of view is.

I gotta say, that is one of the stupidest posts you've ever put up. It made no sense at all - other than to further evidence your anti-christian bigotry.

absolutely.
people have found Biblical validation for everything from war to slavery to banning interracial marriages to beating their children.
people who look hard enough can find validation in the Bible for absolutely any action.

Actually, it's perfectly reflective of reality.
Over the millenia, followers of Christianity have declared that some issues like X, Y, and Z have GOT to be true, saying otherwise is blasphemy, and God made it this way.
And then when they were proven wrong, guess what happened. The religion didn't collapse.
They suddenly found something to reinterpret to say what was REALLY going on, and they moved on.

Part of the problem is hubris of some Christians who presume that their interpretation is definitive. And also hubris in thinking that all (or certain specific) portions of the Bible can or should be taken literally.

The pretense that they know the mind of God.
Hubris.
