If they cannot be proven how can they be "known". If I can't prove the flying spaghetti monster exists it would be DISHONEST if I said "I know the flying spaghetti monster exists". I can believe he exists until I am blue in the face and at least remain honest.

Same thing with God, the soul, angels, heaven, hell, etc.
If you claim to know if they exist or not you are a liar. That is defending the truth at its easiest. I'm sorry if it doesn't fit your spiritual world view.
One day you will get all the proof and more that you need, or it could be that your eyes and mind is not open enough to see, or than again it could be that it's not in gods plan for you to know...for now..

Here one for you..how do we know you exist,as far as we know our computers could have a spell on it and you really don't exist.. or just maybe you work for the devil, just joking, because i don't believe in hell either.

but there could be many reasons for you to not believe..

It's pretty widely accepted that we don't actually live in a matrix-type existence. Obviously, yes, truth is relative. Everything is relative. Your reality could very well be completely different from mine and the person next to me. But just because we can't really prove that there's not a "spell on our computers" doesn't mean we can't agree that there isn't.
"An intellectual is going to have doubts, for example, about a fundamentalist religious doctrine that admits no doubt, about an imposed political system that allows no doubt, about a perfect aesthetic that has no room for doubt." ~ Antonio Tabucchi

This all started by me telling Hev that I know God exists. That I dont even need faith anymore. Then for 3 pages everyone chimed in to how or why I am wrong. But not one of you have a clue as to why Im so sure. Lots of assumption that I just had a "feeling", and stuff like that. Now Im not going to get in to how or why I know, simply cause I dont want people on here belittling my experiance, and calling me a lier. Which you are sure to do. But I will leave you with this. You dont know anywhere near as much as you think you know.

It really IS interesting how INTOLERANT these liberals are, isn't it?

And they can't even see it in themselves!

This makes me very happy. With a line of thought or question like this you start to unlock the true potential of the possibilities of reality, God, the universe, etc.

If you use this same line of thinking in regards to the possibilities of God you will see that organized religion is only limiting the potential and being dishonest about it in the process.

Cheers!

There is little doubt that the world in general is more liberal than it was 50 years ago and beyond. Conservatives are simply roadblocks on the path to an ever more progressive and liberal world. What a sad existence.

Being intolerant towards dishonesty and hypocrisy is, as martha would say, a good thing.

Perhaps you can provide us a list of things for which intolerance is tolerable !!

Just so we all know!

Conservatism: Self-centered mean-spiritedness fueled by ignorance and misguided self-importance.

Bigotry is a social disease.

Legalized same-sex marriage almost certainly benefits those same-sex couples who choose to marry, as well as the children being raised in those homes. - David Blankenhorn is president of the New York-based Institute for American Values and the author of "The Future of Marriage."
