High Speed Internet-$10.00
While cruising around on the internet, I found this site for blogging called," Diggthis" some may have seen it.

Anyway there was an article posted concerning 'Bellsouth and AT&T. It seems to get the deal approved by the feds. They came up with a plan to sweeten the deal and get approval.

They made part of the contract deal to sell to bellsouth customers that have never had high speed internet connection. The right to get it for $10.00 a month for 2 1/2 years! The contract would only run for one year.

After reading some of the posts. One guy from Pennsylvania wanted to try and get this and discovered that Bellsouth isn't reallying trying to sign people up for this deal.

The main catch seems to be that it only applies to the states where Bellsouth owns the land lines. that's only 22 STATES!! Oh, boy; this guy tells how to find it you have to look in the terms and contract section. Where the heck is that? Anybody else seen this? They don't seem real interested in telling people about it.

Okay! I'm trying to find out about this deal. I called Bellsouth and asked acustomer rep. about it. To find out if I could get highspeed internet for $10.00. the rep said the offer is being offered thru the AT&T website.

After I got to the website, down on the bottom left hand side was a small link. Lower rate high speed internet see if you qualify. I hit the button. It took me to a page that gave me two questions about if I had service through two providers. I answered No to both, I passed this test. Then passed to another page. Then required to fill in my Phone number. Okay, I did that. Next page brought a silly error message. Sorry this service is currently down right now. Error code 76. It listed a phone number to call AT&T for the service department. Dial it, recorded message said," This number is no longer in service." hmm..
Check the number, dial it again. Same message, 'not inservice'.

Has anybody else tried to get this service yet? They do not seem to want to make it easy to find out. Besides, since when does AT&T 'no longer have no service number's? That is ridiculous. This silly thing is supposed to be available to customers in 22 states, where Bellsouth owns the land lines. of you have not had highspeed internet with them, you qualify. :<

Here is the story @ Diggs.

A cheaper internet deal from AT&T
AT&T has done something unethical. When they took over Bellsouth, as part of the deal they were forced to offer an inexpensive plan as one option. They did, offering a slower (768k) DSL connection at $10 per month. It's a great deal. But they hide the link to this service on the website, making it almost impossible to find if you don't know where to look! Well, Clark thinks this stinks, and wants you to know how to find the deal. Here's how:
This direct link will show you all the details:
AT&T - Terms and Conditions - Residential - CA
Or, navigate to it this way:
  • Go to AT&T - Residential
  • Click "View Internet services"
  • Scroll down page, and just above Terms and Conditions look for the text link that says "Term contract plans available"
  • See "FastAccess DSL Lite with term agreement" and follow the instructions from there!

Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

The one question I have on this point, As I read the story, At&T wanted to get the compromise excepted by the Federal Regulations, They came up with the idea to sweeten the deal so the Fed's would except it.
