Thumbs up April 13, 2008 - New Features and more to come
To All,

I want to first apologize for my absence as I've been very busy with my new full-time job, working on my new house, graduation preparation, and many other needs. Today I had some free time and I really wanted to give back to Defending the Truth by introducing some cool new features, which have been on my list of to-do's for quite some time...

The first new feature I would like to introduce is the "Thanks" option. You should notice a new icon which its primary purpose is to give thanks to a persons given post. Instead of having to write in reply, "Thank you for answering that" or "Thank you", you can simply click on that icon and the user will receive a thank you note and a point. I've been meaning to implement this as I've always wanted to thank many respondents their replies..Now it's here

The second new feature is a points system, rewarding those with medals who earn enough points for achievements. You can actually view a breakdown of the points system + current awards here: Defending the Truth - Experience Ranking This feature still needs a little more tweaking, but medals will be given to those who achieve certain goals whether it be an increase in posts, threads, friends, thank you's, etc. Eventually, I would like to award members with gifts from Defending the Truth (maybe American Express gift cards) for accomplishing certain achievements. This is still in the works..

Are these 'gifts' you have planned only for American members, or do they extend to us all?

Thanks Highway. ((((HUGZ))))

Doctor changed mom's meds a couple of weeks ago, so things are finally getting back to 'normal' enough so I can find a bit of time to get on-line. I missed everyone bunches while off but mom kept me too busy (and tired) the last couple of weeks for anything but just trying to catch my breath...

Nothing is worse then a patient on methodone...It had mom hallucinating badly as well as no muscle control or body control. She kept trying to get up on her own (I get my independant/strong will from her) and do things on her own...Which means she's covered from head to toe in bruises now as well. LOL!

I need a looooong vacation, to say the least. But I'm more then happy to settle catching up with my friends on-line instead.

LOL! I'm trying. Had a doctor visit for myself last week and they upped my bp meds, along with the usual advice of 'get plenty of rest, avoid stress, get someone to watch your mother while you get away for a few hours (or days)', etc...

At this point, I'd happily settle for a full night's sleep versus the catch a cat nap here/there I've had the last few weeks. ROTFLMAOL!
