I honestly feel that the Gay Marriage forum might be the forum that is causing the problems here. I know owners from other political web sites and the took down their Gay Marriage forum because it was resulting in too much hatred. I know I may be going off-topic here, but honestly, gays do not bother me at all. Sure I do not support gay-marriage, but I do support civil unions and I do have friends who are gay. Now I am bringing this up because I feel that there are some people who are 100% anti-gay and that is causing a stir in the debate with those who are either gay or want the same rights as heterosexuals have. When I had the Gay Marriage forum down for a couple of weeks, some of you were upset to not voice your opinion, but I have noticed that the debates were much "cleaner" and the word gay was hardly used. Now that it's back up...look what happens. Now I'm still thinking about what to do here...I could: -Take down the Gay Marriage forum -Temporarily take down the Gay Marriage forum every other week (may work) I value everyones opinions here, unless they are spam or "chat threads" The one thing that really hurts me is to hear that members are upset with other members, hurting the overall debate and quality of the web site. It really does. What I would want is for everyone to have a nice civil debate, try to keep the topics on-topic, and if you really can't stand someone, do not insult them, but rather place them on your ignore list. Maybe some of you can join my other forum Expertise Forums - Share Your Knowledge with the World and try to get to know eachother differently than by just discussion politics. Maybe it will be easier to make friends. Again, It makes me upset to read a long list of reported posts daily, give out infractions and/or bans, or to see members go because they do not feel comfortable here anymore... I created this web site because I want everyone to have a fun/free time to debate political topics and current events as it interests me greatly. Recently though, it has been very upsetting. If somehow we can all work on a solution, you will all be doing me a favor. Let's all please try to get along. | ||
