Not all it's cracked up to be. Too rough riding and grumbly. I haven't driven a Z6 yet. But the convertibles are nice to be seen in.

When my boss drove a Corvette some 22 years ago, I got to drive it a few times. Boy, did it have a lot of power compared to what I drove, which was a 1981 4-door Datsun 510 at that time.

One time, I drove one of his cars (not the "vette") to his home some 20 miles away. While on the phone before I headed out, he told his wife to let me drive the Corvette back to work. One can't really drive that kind of car on local county highways, which are usually slow. So I was easy with it.

For Christmas 1987, my boss gave me a radio-controlled model of a Chevy Corvette. I had just bought a Chevy Cavalier Z24 some three months earlier, and it was the first time I had a car with a lot of power, since it was a 6-cylinder car.

Anyway, I called my Chevy salesman and I played him a little. I told him that my boss gave me a (real) Corvette for Christmas, and he nearly fell for it. That is until I told him it was actually the radio-controlled model of it. LOL

Right now we have an 07 Acura TL Type-S 6 spd. It's a screaming hoot. 286 hp but they are all trying to scramble through the front wheels so it kinda kills some of the fun. It's my favorite color scheme though, white over black leather, with NAV. It's gonna be a while before we turn this one in.

As for the Corvette. I've driven a couple of this generation and a few of the last gen vettes. They are fun cars, but they just seem rather crude when you compare them with a Japanese or German sports car. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the new Nissan sports car though and that new Pontiac G8 looks interesting.

My ex-bro-in-law (and still a friend) drove a 1960's Corvette. What a car that was.

I can't go back that far. I'm even looking at some of the cars I've owned in the past and consider them too dated to have now. Although I would love to have another 1998 RX7 Annniversary Edition or another 1991 300ZX Twin Turbo but I'm spoiled on the gadgets in new cars. Satellite radio, climate control, Ipod inputs, Bluetooth, all that crap. I just gotta have it. Even if I were to buy another minivan, it would have to be something like a Honda Odyssey because of all the doodads that come on it.

Stereotyping or grouping a whole country together like that are ALWAYS wrong.

I like old Mercs. Wouldn't own one, but I have to admit, they had more class back in the day.
