The way I heard was that after I walked into my speech teacher's room, he told me something like "at 12PM today ......... ". That was all I could remember that he told me. I don't remember if we were let off for the rest of the day. I was on PST at that time. When I got home, the TV was on, and I could see a big plane on the tarmac somewhere, and a big car pulling up to it. That was the ambulance pulling up to the plane that had the body of JFK inside it, for which the ambulance would take it to Walter Reed Army Hospital, if I remember it right. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

| No matter what any of us think about President Bush, the honorable men and women sacrificing for our freedom deserve our utmost respect. I would personally like to thank anybody who has ever served in our military to defend a higher cause. Let's all keep hoping and praying that we will emerge victorious in the war on terror, and the Islamic Extremists who instigated 9/11 will never again darken our doorstep and endanger our loved ones' lives. As many of you know, I am into music - I use music to get my point across many times on these forums. I will leave you with a couple of videos about 9/11 that express my feelings pretty adequately. Enjoy, and God bless our troops. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<obje...mbed></object> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<obje...mbed></object> | |||||||||||||||||||||

Seeing a commotion inside the Dallas police station where Jack Ruby shot Oswald, Seeing the funeral procession on the streets of Washington, DC, with a flag-draped coffin, and the military marching with the horses to Arlington Nat'l Cemetary. My sister and I cried over it. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

Nearly 40 years later I satalone in front of my television and wept as the Twin Towers fell. Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this.

Why don't we all wear something patriotic tomorrow, like red, white, and blue shirts? I have an Old Navy r/w/b Hawaiian shirt. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 Last edited by highway80west; 09-10-2007 at 12:33 PM.

| My first thought as I watched the tower 2 collapse was 'What about the firemen?' Having had a baby not 4 days before, and having him in the hospital, I was an emotional wreck. Thinking of those heroes who lost their lives that day, those men and women who rushed in to save lives without thought of their own, still brings tears to my eyes. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Six years ago. Doesn't seem like that long ago but not even one year after the events on that day did our very government forget. "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02 Some people believe that only six years after the attacks, September 11th is becoming just another calender date again. Perhaps they are right, but the attacks by religious extremists on our country still echoes of recent memory. The infamy of that date still lingers. But even that will fade without a trace. Eventually, the memory of the violence of religion on humans on September 11th will fade. Because, this September 11th isn't just the 6th but also the 150th anniversary of religious terrorism on innocent Americans. In 1857, on September 11th, religious terrorism was inflicted on Americans not by Muslim extremists, but by Mormons, when 128 innocent men, women, and children, were slaughtered by Mormon militia. But people will just go about eating their dinners. Maybe slap a 'support our troops' bumper sticker on their SUV's before they go to Walmart (after Church of course); not actually helping the troops but probably making it worse for them (oil addiction). Maybe blindly support a war of reactionary imperialism. Maybe alienate the scapegoat of the age (now Islam). But of course, always will forget the true problem. Always feed the fire with more fire. Hopefully we will remember for real before its too late. Hopefully we will end the madness before, maybe in another 100 years, it will happen again on September 11th. Perhaps we will remember that right after September 11th, the world was with us. People held mass candlelight vigils in our favor in Tehran. Six years later, they're having mass vigils in Tehran, only they're lighting the American flag in protest and anger. Perhaps we will remember how we fucked it up. Anyway, that's my thoughts on September 11th. | For me the past six years have flown. I can remember that I was in NJ trying to get into the city, but the trains had stopped and there was confusion everywhere. We were told there was an attack at the WTC, but no details. I gave up trying to get into the city. A friend called me worried about me, and then came to pick me up. Later at his home, I saw CNN with the videos of the towers coming down. The images on the videos were so small and gave no idea on how much debris there was. Later while driving I could see the smoke from ground zero coming up from a distance. I never knew NYC without the twin towers. One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small, And the ones that mother gives you don't do anything at all. | |||||||||||||||||||||
